Borrowed from Tagalog Tatlong Hari (“Magi”, literally “three kings”). Mostly found among ethnic Tagalog stock in Mindanao whose ancestors bearing the surname came from Batangas, Laguna and Quezon during the late Spanish and American colonial periods and since postwar era.
