Sino-Korean word from 漢語拼音, from 漢語 (“Chinese”) + 拼音 (“transcription”), from Mandarin 漢語拼音/汉语拼音 (hànyǔ pīnyīn).

- Phonetic hangul: [하(ː)너 병음]
- Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
