Sino-Korean word from 陽地, from 陽 (“yang; sun, sunshine”) + 地 (“earth, land, ground”).

- Phonetic hangul: [양(ː)지]
- Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
