Etymology
האַר (har, “sir”) suffixed with a diminutive cognate to ־עלע (-ele),[1] equivalent to German Herrlein.

Usage notes
- Also seems to be used by German non-Jews (but not Jews) near Frankfurt and Nuremburg, as *Harrle or *Herrle.
