Etymology 3

Possibly derived from плантация (plantacija). Used at least since early 1970-s. The usage of "план" for "marijuana" was popularized by a song by Vysotsky, in his song "Вот раньше жизнь" ("That's Life Before") where he wrote: "Покуришь план, пойдешь на бан" (You finish to smoke marijuana, and then go to the station). Approximately the same year as the song of Vysotsky, the word was also used by Severny in his song "Анаша".
