Learned borrowing from Ancient Greek ἀκρῑ́βεια (akrī́beia).[1] By surface analysis, ακριβής (akrivís) + -εια (-eia).

ακριβείας is a literary genitive form.
Inherited from Byzantine Greek ακρίβεια (akríbeia, “expensiveness”), from Koine Greek ακρίβεια (akríbeia, “strict economy”), from Ancient Greek ἀκρῑ́βεια (akrī́beia), with synizesis of final vowels into one syllable.[1]
