History
Usercentrics GmbH was founded in 2017 in Munich, Germany, by Mischa Rürup, Daniel Johannsen, and Lisa Gradow.[5] In 2012, Cybot, the parent company of Cookiebot, was launched in Denmark.[6] On September 8, 2021, Usercentrics merged with Cybot and continued to operate under the name Usercentrics.[7][8][9]
In September 2018, Usercentrics received a pre-seed round of funding from investors, including Cavalry Ventures and Reimann Investors.[10] In July 2019, the company closed a Series A round of €4,000,000, led by Alstin Capital.[11][12] In December 2020, Usercentrics raised €17,000,000 in a Series B round led by Full In Partners.[13][14][15]
In Spring 2024, Usercentrics received G2 badges, including Leader in the Consent Management Platform category.[16][17] In May 2024, Usercentrics achieved a 50% Year-over-Year growth.[18][19][20]

Usercentrics has technology for businesses to collect, manage, and document user consents and preferences on websites and apps, to enable businesses to be compliant with global privacy regulations.[21] The company provides products such as Usercentrics Web CMP, Cookiebot™CMP, Usercentrics App CMP, Usercentrics TV CMP, Consent Management API, Cookiebot for Wix, Cookiebot CMP WordPress Plugin, and Preference Manager.[22][23][24][25]
Usercentrics enables compliance with global regulations including GDPR (EU),[26] CCPA (California),[27] VCDPA (Virginia),[28] LGPD (Brazil),[29] POPIA (South Africa),[30] FADP (Switzerland),[31] and DMA (EU).[32][33][34]
