Hey, sorry for the slow reply. I am really not going to say what I feel about Blvd East, since its not in my cup of tea. As for my question, I saw you post a JC image, so how was the trip on the 23rd?Mitch32(Growing up with Wikipedia: 1 edit at a time.) 21:43, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Hi, Jim. I created a Cuban Day Parade category on the Commons, but now that I think about it, the more specific North Hudson Cuban Day Parade would be a better title. Can Commons categories be "moved" they way Wikipedia articles can? Do you know how to do that? Let me know. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 04:47, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. MBisanz talk 02:16, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Can you check the talk page please? I had a proposition to oust some things but no one responded. --Iankap99 (talk) 04:54, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
Is there any chance you have some pics from Queens Village, Queens in your files, or know of some other editor who has them? I just uploaded nearly a dozen of Queens Village (LIRR station) yesterday, and I've seriously considered creating a new category for it. However, this would also be a subcategory of the neighborhood itself. I don't want to stick to the commons cat "Queens, New York City" if I don't have to. ----DanTD (talk) 12:14, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
Jim, I see that I'm not the only editor intrigued by your prolific photographic record of New York City. May I add another request? I see that you have a photograph of the meridian mall on Allen Street, looking south from Delancey, which is used to illustrate Allen Street (Manhattan). Is there a chance that you may have a photograph of the building at the southwest corner of Allen and Delancey? That would be 105 Allen, and I believe that is the same building that was the site of a horrific fire in 1905 that claimed the lives of 20 people. I'm considering starting an article on that fire, but I've found no photos of the building, either then or now. I was thinking of stopping by sometime to photograph it myself, but was wondering if you'd done so already. Thanks, ScottyBerg (talk) 18:04, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

Hey Jim, I just referenced that latin inscription on the page. If you go to the reference you'll see that it's so. Yet I don't think that the referenced webpage looks too reliable, so if you believe that you can correct the Latin grammar please do.
I actually used some translator (and it say that the phrase translates to "Sweetness and Beauty is for fatherland to die,"yet I also know that these translators aren't reliable, because if I input a Spanish phrase I often get gibberish. So if you're fluent in Latin please help.

You inspired me. Nice picture of the Venezuela sign. I was surprised to see how old it was, and that it was orphaned. ScottyBerg (talk) 22:56, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
As you commented in the pending closure discussion I am notifying you that the Wikipedia:Pending changes/Vote comment is now open and will be for two weeks, discussion as required can continue on the talkpage. Thanks. Off2riorob (talk) 23:12, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for the map gadget. I will be back today, but late. --DThomsen8 (talk) 11:50, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
Hi Jim,
I thought you might like to know that I have added a couple more comments to Wikipedia talk:Pending changes/Closure#PC Terminology. One relates to your post and the other is more general.

Hi. As you recently commented in the straw poll regarding the ongoing usage and trial of Pending changes, this is to notify you that there is an interim straw poll with regard to keeping the tool switched on or switching it off while improvements are worked on and due for release on November 9, 2010. This new poll is only in regard to this issue and sets no precedent for any future usage. Your input on this issue is greatly appreciated. Off2riorob (talk) 23:37, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
As there is a discussion regarding how to define the Pulaski Skyway in light of contradictory information and opinions your input would be appreciated Djflem (talk) 07:27, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

On the Bicycle sharing system page, the list of systems has reached the point where it deserves its own page, I think. Please leave any comment at the talk page. I plan to implement that in a few days. Earthlyreason (talk) 10:59, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, review the recent Wiki-Conference NYC 2010, plan for the next stages of projects like Wikipedia Ambassador Program and Wikipedia Academy, and hold salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects (see the May meeting's minutes).
In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and generally enjoy ourselves and kick back.
You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.

Hey Jim. Question, before the meet at 2:30 in Saturday, I'm coming in photography to take photography and other things. Would you consider joining me in Washington Heights and Inwood, get some nice photos at the northern end of Manhattan? Looks good. I'll see you at the 9th St exit or else walk to the Jeff Mkt Library downstairs Reference Room. Jim.henderson (talk) 10:02, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
See you there at 10:20. Jim.henderson (talk) 22:05, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
{{unblock|No warning; no known reason why I ought to be blocked}}
According to your block log, you aren't blocked. You might be affected by a block on someone else, and need to deal with an autoblock.
Clearing an autoblock
Due to the nature of the block applied, we need additional information before we can decide whether to unblock you. It is very likely that you are not personally blocked. If you are prevented from editing, it may be because you are autoblocked or blocked because of your IP address. Without further details, there is nothing further we can do to review or lift your block. Please follow these instructions:

The assessment is mistaken; yes of course I logged in as seen in the edit log of this page, but still I am blocked from editing the Sandbox. No, there is no "IP Blocked?" section; does this quote help?

Jim.henderson (talk) 10:45, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
Thanks; that did it. I'm still a bit grumpy at the process; a block notice should be more complete and give links to a log that explains a particular action rather than just a vague discussion of general principles. Admins shouldn't impose a block without having a way to find out which of their address blocking actions are blocking a particular user's editorial attempts. Those, however, are policy issues; at least I'm free now to continue as a Wikignome, gardening my little Wikipatch. Jim.henderson (talk) 12:05, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
Hello, I've noticed that you've had a lot to do with the articles about sculptures in NYC. We're putting together all of the lists of sculptures & public art that we can find here as part of the our project, Wikipedia Saves Public Art. We'd love to have your involvement in our project. It'd be great if to have an improved list of artworks in NYC, or even a WSPA sub group for the city.
Kind regards, --RichardMcCoy (talk) 22:26, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.
Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.
Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this newly-granted right to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a serious concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.
Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).
I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption.
Thanks for reverting this. I don't remember what I thought that sentence said, but obviously it actually said something completely different. SpinningSpark 11:24, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for adding coordinates to articles. It's a big job, and we need all the help we can get. Please note, however, that the parameter syntax you are using (display:heading) is incorrect. I think what you want is (display=title). Please review the template documentation at Template:Coord/doc and contact me if you still have questions. Best regards, --Stepheng3 (talk) 19:53, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
Seeing we lack light at the time of the meetup, interested in another pre-meet shindig. Maybe we can go out to the Rockaways (I do need some LIRR stations). More than enough time to handle it if you're interested? Hell we can go at 10:30 again and still have enough time. Interested?Mitch32(Transportation Historian) 01:55, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Forgive me, but I seem to be missing where you opened the merger discussion for this article. It is common curtosey to start the discussion when you propose the merge. Frankly, looking at the article you've nominated and the article you want to merge it to, there is no content that would be worth merging Thanks, Hasteur (talk) 20:43, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
Our next Wikipedia NYC Meetup is this weekend on Saturday Dec 4 at Brooklyn Museum during their awesome First Saturdays program, starting at 5 PM.
A particular highlight for the wiki crowd will be 'Seductive Subversion: Women Pop Artists, 1958–1968', and the accompanying "WikiPop" project, with specially-created Wikipedia articles on the artists displayed on iPads in the gallery.
This will be a museum touring and partying meetup, so no excuses about being a shy newbie this time. Bring a friend too!

Hello. Re: you added an image of electrical insulators to Overhead power line - I like the image - but it is in silhouette and lacks colour - would you consider choosing another insulator image that shows more - there are lots at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Electric_insulator eg I find http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Endmast_Bernhausen_-_20090909-05.jpeg more 'encyclopedic' since it shows the insulators, wires and other bits in more detail, and with more colour.
Thanks. (and happy 2011!). Sf5xeplus (talk) 17:22, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
As a New Yorker and someone I met last year, I invite you to join me in my Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Wikipedia Day#Open Space discussion on how to improve the coverage of New York City. My hands-on tutorial on wp:inline citations will be directed to Manhattan in particular, but the discussion will be open-ended, drawing on my experiences improving coverage of Philadelphia history and government.--DThomsen8 (talk) 15:25, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
Hello. The New York Marble Cemetery article says it's located between 2nd and 3rd Streets, putting it on the north side of 2nd. Is that incorrect? Station1 (talk) 01:20, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
