From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Avril Lavigne is a Canadian singer-songwriter who has written, recorded, and performed numerous songs that have never been officially released. Many of these songs have been registered with professional music and copyright bodies, including the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI), the United States Copyright Office, and the Harry Fox Agency. Several have also been acknowledged and discussed by Lavigne in interviews, or by other sources. On occasion, Lavigne has also given songs to other artists, who have released their own performances; although Lavigne's recordings of some of these songs have never been released, they are not included on this list.
Many of Lavigne's unreleased songs had been schdeduled for inclusion on one of her studio albums. These include a number of tracks that were written and recorded for her debut studio album, Let Go, before she partnered with the American pop musicwriting and production trio The Matrix. Others were intended to be included on Under My Skin (2004), The Best Damn Thing (2007), and Goodbye Lullaby (2011). Some of these songs, notably many written early in Lavigne's professional music career, have been leaked.
