History
During World War II, in 1942,[3] Jews of the village were murdered by an Einsatzgruppen assisted by auxiliary police in a mass execution.[4][5]

Until 26 January 2024, Turiisk was designated urban-type settlement. On this day, a new law entered into force which abolished this status, and Turiisk became a rural settlement.[6]
