Notable places of interest along the route are: Horseguards, The Foreign and Commenwealth Office, The Home Office, Banqueting House, The Ministry of Defence, The Cenotaph, Downing Street and Portcullis House. There may be more, (Scottish Office, Welsh Office for example)I'll need to check.

This article states that the Downing Street gates were installed in 1986. However the Downing Street page says 1989. I think the latter is correct, does the author of the 1986 statement have a source? C.harrison1988 (talk) 20:23, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

"The name Whitehall was originally only used for the section of road between Charing Cross and Holbein Gate; beyond this it was known as The Street as far as King Street Gate, then King Street thereafter." Harfarhs (talk) 15:36, 8 November 2017 (UTC)
