H World International,[3] formerly branded Deutsche Hospitality and Steigenberger Hotel Group, is the umbrella brand of the German hotel chain company Steigenberger Hotels AG. Since 2020, it is a subsidiary of the Chinese Huazhu Hotels Group and operates hotels under several brands, including Steigenberger, IntercityHotel and Zleep Hotels.[4]

History
The company was founded by Albert Steigenberger in 1930 and was run as a family business by the descendants of the founder, who died in 1958.[5]
In 2009, the Egyptian travel and tourism company Travco Group acquired Steigenberger Hotels.[6] In 2016, the company was rebranded as Deutsche Hospitality.[7][8] On 4 November 2019, it was announced that the Chinese Huazhu Hotels Group through one of their subsidiaries has purchased Deutsche Hospitality for 700 million Euro.[9]
Since 1 November 2020, Marcus Bernhardt has been CEO and chairman of the management board of Steigenberger Hotels AG/Deutsche Hospitality.[1][10]
In 2024, Deutsche Hospitality announced a rebranding and name change to H World International.[3]

As of 2024, H World International manages and operates more than 100 hotels under the following brands:[11][12]
- Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts (over 30 in 8 countries, majority located in Germany and Egypt)
- Steigenberger Icons (6 in 2 countries)
- IntercityHotel (over 50 in 8 countries, majority located in Germany)
- Jaz in the City (3 in 3 countries)
- MAXX (4 in 2 countries)
- Zleep Hotels (15 in 4 countries)
Furthermore, there are currently three new brands in development, namely Steigenberger Porsche Design Hotels, House of Beats and Ji Hotel.[11]
