- Philoxenus Anicetus, an Indo-Greek king
- Philoxenus (general), a Macedonian general who was one of the Diadochi
- Philoxenus (physician), ancient Greek physician
- Philoxenus of Mabbug (d. 523), Syriac writer and proponent of Miaphysitism
- Philoxenus of Eretria, Hellenistic painter
