In 1995, Monaco’s population was estimated at 30,744, with an average annual growth rate of 0.59%.[1] Monaco-Ville, one of its historic districts, had a population of 1,151 at that time. By 2023, the total population had grown to 38,367, according to Monaco Statistics (IMSEE).[2]
French serves as the official language, while Italian, English, and Monégasque are also widely spoken. The literacy rate stands at 99%.[3] Roman Catholicism is the state religion, though the constitution ensures freedom for other faiths.
