Muçolli was born in Fredericia, Denmark, to ethnic Albanian parents from Podujevo, Kosovo. He began his career with local club Fredericia at age 5.[1]
A central midfielder, Muçolli made his debut for Vejle Boldklub on 17 November 2016, aged 17, in a match against Næstved BK, playing a total of 80 minutes before being substituted. He started alongside his brother, Agon Muçolli.[2]
Muçolli was injured for parts of the 2017–18 season, appearing in 15 matches and helping Vejle secure promotion to the Danish Superliga.
During the 2018–19 Danish Superliga season, Muçolli was a first-team regular for Vejle. On 25 July 2018, he extended his contract with the club until 2020.[3]
During the 2019–20 Danish 1st Division season, following Vejle's relegation, he helped his side earn promotion again, appearing in 26 matches and winning Player of the Season honours.[4]
On 6 July 2023, Muçolli joined Swedish Allsvenskan club IFK Göteborg on a deal until the end of 2026.[5] He made his competitive debut for the club four days later, replacing Marcus Berg at half-time in a 2–1 league loss to Varbergs BoIS at home at Gamla Ullevi.[6] His first start for Blåvitt occurred the following week, playing 81 minutes before being substituted for Eman Marković in an away draw against IF Elfsborg.[7] On 13 August, he scored his first goal for the side, helping Göteborg to a 2–1 home victory against Djurgårdens IF.[8] He scored his first brace on 3 September against Malmö FF, with his second goal prompting objects to be thrown from the stands, leading to a temporary interruption of the match.[9] Due to his outstanding performances throughout September 2023, including three goals in three appearances, he was awarded the title of Player of the Month for September.[10] In his debut half-season at IFK, Muçolli netted six goals in 17 appearances, aiding the club in narrowly evading relegation, finishing in 13th place.[11]
Muçolli started 2024 strong, scoring two goals in three Svenska Cupen matches.[12][11]
Born in Denmark, Muçolli is of Albanian descent. He was capped four times at under-18 level for Denmark, making his international debut on 8 March 2017 against Italy as a substitute in the 68th minute.[13][14]
Muçolli received Albanian citizenship on 8 February 2018, thus becoming eligible to represent Albania internationally.[15]
Muçolli was called up to the Albania under-21 side for the first time for 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers in September 2018.[16] He made his debut against Spain on 6 September, coming on the field in the 70th minute.[17] He started both the return leg against Spain on 11 October and the next match against Estonia on 16 October.[18][19]
He also participated in 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers, finding the field against Andorra, Turkey, Austria, and Kosovo.[20][21]
He made his senior debut for Albania in a friendly against Estonia on 13 June 2022.[22]
