Historian of Islamic art From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
András J. Riedlmayer, (Budapest, Hungary) is an American art historian. He studied at the University of Chicago and at Princeton University, where he lectured Ottoman history and Near Eastern Studies. He served as president of the Ottoman and Turkish Studies Association and as a member of the board of the Islamic Manuscript Association. He was director of the Documentation Center for Islamic Architecture of the Aga Khan Program at Harvard University's Fine Arts Library. He was expert witness for the Prosecution on the systematic destruction of cultural heritage in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1992 and 1996, and destruction of cultural heritage of Kosovo in 1999, at the ICTY in the trials of Milošević, Šešelj, Karadžić.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
