The 2024 Wimbledon Championships Men's Singles final was the championship tennis match of the men's singles tournament at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. Third seed and defending champion Carlos Alcaraz defeated second seed and seven-time champion Novak Djokovic in straight sets to defend the title, 6–2, 6–2, 7–6(7–4). The match lasted 2 hours and 27 minutes, and was the first time in six years that a men's singles Wimbledon final ended in straight sets, with Djokovic's triumph in the 2018 final being the previous straight-sets encounter.[1][2]

Alcaraz was aiming to win a consecutive major title following his victory at the French Open, while Djokovic, competing in his first tournament after knee surgery,[3] was aiming to win a record-equalling eighth Wimbledon trophy, which would have tied Roger Federer's all-time record in the Open Era.[4] Djokovic's loss was his second in two years on Centre Court, following his defeat in the previous final against the same opponent; his previous defeat was 10 years prior in the 2013 final to Andy Murray. Despite Alcaraz's victory, Jannik Sinner retained the world No. 1 ranking.[5][6] Alcaraz became the ninth male player to successfully defend the championship in the Open Era.[7]

Attendance
Numerous celebrities and public officials attended the match, including Sadiq Khan, Tom Cruise, Christopher McQuarrie, Benedict Cumberbatch, Sophie Hunter, Julia Roberts, Daniel Moder, Paul Mescal, Zendaya, Tom Allen, Jamie Dornan, Emma D'Arcy and Olivia Cooke. Many former tennis players were also in attendance, including Ken Rosewall, Stefan Edberg, Lleyton Hewitt, Chris Evert, Rod Laver, Stan Smith, Jan Kodeš, and Andre Agassi.[9]
Catherine, Princess of Wales, as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, was in attendance with one of her three children – Princess Charlotte, as well as her younger sister Pippa. Prince and Princess Michael of Kent were also present, along with a number of other British royal family members.[10]
