I love messages! Even if you just want to say hi, I'd love to hear from you. If it's not apparent enough from my username that I love classical music...feel free to talk over Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, ETC, and I'll be very pleased to chat with you about it. Click here to post a new message. I'll always reply on your talk page, unless you don't have a username, so unless you want to have to keep checking back here, it would be a good idea to sign your messages using four tildes (~~~~). Please add new comments at the bottom with a relevant message heading. I archive every 30 message headings...archived talk can be found at the right. And thanks for talking to me! Thanks to Sango for the design of the archive table, etc. and to Tito for the beautiful colors of this and my userpage. Thanks, guys! Update: If you are waiting for a reply from me and it's been more than a month, please leave another note, because it's extremely likely that I forgot to reply. Thanks!--ViolinGirl♪ 00:46, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
ThanksMany thanks for your support on my request for adminiship, I'm sure you'll be glad to know the final result was 92/1/0. I am now an administrator and (as always) if I do anything you have issue with, please talk about it with me. (After appreciating the decor) I like what you've done to this page. --Alf melmac 10:44, 8 January 2006 (UTC) Thanks

Thanks for your support on my request for adminship. The final outcome was (80/3/0), so I am now an administrator. I was flattered by the level of support and the comments, so I'm under real pressure not to disappoint, thus if you have any queries, suggestions or problems with any of my actions as an admin then please leave me a note --pgk(talk) 10:41, 8 January 2006 (UTC)IRCSure thing. :) It looks like you'll be needing an IRC client (Internet Relay Chat). Since you use Mozilla Firefox, try installing ChatZilla. Have you ever been on IRC before? Sango123 (talk) 19:29, 8 January 2006 (UTC) Hey how are things? Is the IRC working? If it is any consolation, until a month ago I had the same problem, until I was told to download Chatzilla. I look forward to starting the coaching! Banes 19:55, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

Francs2000's Bureaucratship
Thanks for your support on my request for bureaucratship. The final outcome was (70/5/0), so I am now a bureaucrat. I seriously didn't expect so many good comments from everybody and I appreciated the constructive criticism from those that gave it. If you have any queries, suggestions or problems with any of my actions as a bureaucrat then please leave me a note. -- Francs2000 22:06, 9 January 2006 (UTC)concerning User:192.45.72.27hello ViolinGirl, you helped revert a change by the user above on the article South Tyrol. the user keeps pushing his POV, the edits had to be reverted at least four times in the last 24 hours , which amounts in IMO to a violation of the Three-revert rule. is there any proper procedure as to what to do next, do you have any advice, ideas...? with kind regards Gryffindor 23:05, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
To butt in: ViolinGirl, and Gryffindor, 3RR does not apply in cases of obvious POV, or vandalism. I know because I asked that same question some time back after doing 6 reverts in 10 minutes to the same page...It really doesnt matter how many you do. I look forward to the next AC "meeting". Cheers Banes
Hey there, saw your message here , I felt very touched, because I really wondered about that as well. I hope I can get a satisfactory answer so that in future I won't get sucked into such a mess again... :-/ how are you? Gryffindor 19:29, 12 January 2006 (UTC) AC MeetingWell yeah, since we Christians go to church on a Sunday, I would presume Sunday was what you meant. :) That is just fine (about 20:00 my time, 7 hour difference) with me. There is another alternative, I am rising early on Sunday, so if you would like (I dont know how late this is for you) we could have it at about 22:00 your time. But thats only in an emergency! So, 18:00 UTC it is then? Cheers Banes 16:47, 11 January 2006 (UTC) P.S. Glad to see you are arranging wikipedia around RL, rather than the other way around. ;)

Alai 19:48, 12 January 2006 (UTC) Any time VG!It was my pleasure ;-) Here, just between the two of us - don't you feel important when someone goes through the effort of vandalizing your page? Cheers! -- Phædriel *whistle* 13:29, 13 January 2006 (UTC) NewHi I'm new-ish here. Could you help me get the userboxes straight on my userpage? I don't know how, or tell me where to go to find out hopw? --ShadowPuppet 14:20, 13 January 2006 (UTC) I just want them in a row or straight line. Thank you for that welcome. And yes, my userboxs look nice now! Thanks to you both! --ShadowPuppet 20:16, 14 January 2006 (UTC) Next AC meetingHi, ViolinGirl. To be honest, I'm not completely certain if I'll be able to make it; this Sunday is the day before my midterm exams week. (Uh-oh... ;-) What time were you thinking of meeting? If I don't show up, then I'll leave you something to work with on your talk page. Cheers, Sango123 (talk) 20:28, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
Hey, have you got the IRC stuff sorted? Is it just the Esperanza channel that is a problem or is it the whole deal? Anyway, I'll be around here at 20:00 my time and onwards...Cheers Banes 16:59, 15 January 2006 (UTC) MusicHi ViolinGirl, If you’d like to discuss music, I’d be happy too. A good way to tell is to ask someone else to see what message is given when you leave the channel, for example "no route to host". The main reasons I can think of are that you may be getting excess flood, or your internet connection may keep constantly cutting out for a minimal amount of time, for example less than half a second. That could affect it. You might be able to fix the problem by changing IRC client - I would suggest changing to Chatzilla if you don't already use it. If you do use Chatzilla, then changing client isn't likely to fix the problem. As for your nick, there isn't any reason I can see why it would affect your connection. Unless someone knows your password, then nobody can kill you off as a ghost. Make sure that your nickname is registered to freenode - I don't see why that would affect it either, but registering your nickname and then identifying on entry to freenode may make connections more secure. You might want to try talking to a technician on freenode if you ever get onto IRC for long enough. A good person to talk to would be "lilo". I hope I've been of some help if not a lot, and I hope to see you back on IRC soon! Admin Coaching..."The Next Meeting"Hi there ViolinGirl! In RL, things have been great, I spent most of today at a film shoot, and have not really been able to do much wikipedia lately either...trying to see as much of my friends as possible before I start Varsity (next week). No, I'm not going to vandalize your userpage for not editing much, it would be too hypocritical! I'll send a sockpuppet I created in October to do it. :) I've just realized I've been a twit regarding Sunday, as my flight lands at 13:30 your time, and I'd be happy to have the meeting at about 15:30 EST. Does that work for you? If not, then Monday? Otherwise you might as well have the meeting without me.... Banes 16:31, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
Yes, things are rather nice at the moment. You wont believe this, but in Cape Town (at this time of year), my home, there are an average of 70 to 80 advert/film shoots taking place here every week! So, it is quite a big business... :) For the most part its just extras stuff, but I have managed to get a proper role once or twice. I also (not very often) do some modelling... As it happens, I never got around to eavesdropping on your and Sango's conversation (doing so now :)). Those arrangements are just fine with me, bearing in mind I will not be on before 22:30 my time. I also wont know of any changes made after 11:00 UTC tomorrow, as that is when I depart. So hopefully I'll be seeing you and Sango then... False humility, I'm very good at it! I write about myself in third person sometimes because I think it looks better. If you look at my contribs these past days, you'll see they consist almost solely of your talkpage, so I cannot reprimand you, ask Sango. In conclusion: Okay, Sunday afternoon (night) is good for me. Bye Banes 07:24, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
A thanks and a helloHey ViolinGirl, thanks for the welcome ^^. And of course, your welcome message would have been nice, too, haha. I never thought I'd pull up the ol' Wikipedia to find that I had "messages," of all things; like I mentioned at Sango's, it looks like I won't be able to just lurk around as a member of the Undercover Typo Police anymore (for which I am grateful, as I'll eventually realize). At any rate, here's a pledge to start working on my user page soon. I've also got my eye on an article that hasn't been started yet (it has to do with Solresol), but we'll have to see about that. Until that happens... thanks again, and God bless! Weien 23:03, 18 January 2006 (UTC) CVUBy the way, we made a little change to CVU policy, since there were some reports of abuse coming from it. I'm really sad that you're leaving us (well, leaving to all intents and purposes) but please could you elaborate on why reverting vandalism is anti-Christian. I see it like picking up litter. People drop llitter, it's the job of everyone else to pick it up. That's the Admins job here: picking up the litter that thoughtless, misguided or malicious people drop in the form of vandalism. Please explain. I can however empathise with your second reason, that of spending all of your aking hours here. I do the same and wish I could stop! Anyway, all the best, sayonara and good luck! --Celestianpower háblame 14:05, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
Hi ViolinGirl. Thanks for pointing me to that. Please know that you have all my sympathies and prayers, and that I fully support you. Personally, I find a wonderful, almost Benedictine, quality in Wikipedia, in that I can take as much pleasure doing menial work (reverting vandalism) and I can doing more spectacular work (writing articles). I believe that my faith is strengthened through knowledge, and it is for that reason - to help expand my knowledge and that of others - that I contribute to Wikipedia. Love and peace be with you, [[Sam Korn]] 14:20, 21 January 2006 (UTC) Re:I'm sorry to say, I have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. I have two doctorates in theology, I'm an Elder in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and I've been a Christian for all my life, and I can't for the life of me see how reverting vandalism on Wikipedia has anything to do with Christianity at all. For once, I'm completely stumped. Essjay Talk • Contact 21:30, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
I see, the problem is that the content of the vandalism is likely to lead one into a life of sin; I suppose that didn't occur to me because at my age, I've seen it all before. Best of luck VG, hope to see you around. Essjay Talk • Contact 23:00, 21 January 2006 (UTC) All hail (our typo queen)! ^^Since "ViolinGirl/Statement" glows a brighter shade of urgency at the moment, a reply about poetic things will have to come later ^_^. (By the way--if this comment belongs or would look nicer in the discussion of the Statement page, I'll kindly move it). "No Compromises"
Whenever I think about the topic of distancing oneself from things of detriment (or even from those of seeming neutrality), a bad but amusingly picturesque example comes to mind. Not sure if you're familiar with Middle Earth's Saruman, but here we have a fictional character whose initial goal was to defeat evil, but ended up swayed (to evil) by it, and very much because of his extensive study of it (See the third-to-last paragraph of Saruman's Characteristics []). Of course, that's an extreme of what "could happen," but sometimes an extreme is just what we need to understand the gravity of things like, well, compromise. Everything does matter, especially if it has to do with the conscience. With that in mind, and considering that even the smallest fraction of a degree of deviation from what we believe can eventually lead to (as you mentioned) eternal detriment, it is especially important to think about (and if possible only about) "whatever is true... noble... right... pure... lovely... admirable" (Phil. 4:8). Quoting my parents there ^_^. Wish I had more to say about this, but not having ventured very far into the battlefield of vandalism, I think I lack the wisdom to say too much else (though perhaps I can sympathize in my few "ACK!! ALT-F4!!!" Wiki-experiences :\).
Since convincing doesn't seem to be what you're looking for, I'll just try to keep this short (haha). Honestly, I am a self-professed Excessivist Literalist Fatalist (i.e. someone literally who tends to do things in extreme excess, often to fatal results XD), and I have a dreadful history of obsessions and icky withdrawals to show for it. With most of those "addictions" interactive and online activities (with things like Utopia, Gunbound, Imperian, and Risk Your Life--wait a minute, those are all computer games! Ugh...), I can see how Wikipedia could be a similar threat. Indeed, I'm already getting sucked in XD. But my best advice is to be wary of anything that 1) potentially can take a lot of time and 2) would be something that'd be very hard to stop doing. Maybe your parents have asked about your time spent on Wikipedia, which is generally a good sign that you're spending more time than is healthy on one thing; their opinions are definitely valuable, since our minds tend to cloud when we're holding onto the last vestiges of something we value. However (and finally), remember that you don't necessarily have to force yourself into the realm of typos and minor edits--after all, you've already got the hang of all the markup, conventions, and style of Wikipedia. That's valuable (and I wouldn't be surprised if you've also started getting the hang of IRC commands as well, also a powerful tool)! Perhaps declining the idea of future adminship and a gazillion edits under your name might be the step needed to re-prioritize your life. Of course, that's up to your discernment. Looks at comment length, groans. Oog, sorry about this ><. Anyway, I hope this arrives as a bit of support, and not as offensive (or simply fluffiness). As always and truly, God bless. Weien 21:51, 21 January 2006 (UTC) Re: I knew I had forgotten someoneHeh, no worries. I hope to still see you around, but I would still like to know why you're as you are. What happened in IRC?
