Hey, a user has asked for an unblock, regarding an OP block you did. User talk:Redboy442, regarding User talk:222.127.228.6. I scanned it, and, nothing obvious jumps out at me, but, I stuck to well-known ports. Either way, I generally prefer to block OP's AO ACB, when other users may get caught up in it. I was wondering, if you could re-examine this IP, and, the unblock request I noted above? Thanks, SQLQuery me! 12:05, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi - Per this edit Sinebot is signing edits made by this anonymous user who I believe is manually signing using 5 tildes to produce the date. Any chance you would consider changing the detection algorithm to consider something that ends in a UTC date (without a link to a user or talk page) as a sig? -- Rick Block (talk) 01:58, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
{{Unsigned|User}}
instead of {{Unsigned|User|Date}}
, as well as the {{Undated}}
stuff useless as well.Another editor has added the {{prod}}
template to the article User:Slakr/Sandbox/Why you shouldn't vandalize, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at [[Talk:User:Slakr/Sandbox/Why you shouldn't vandalize|its talk page]]. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 07:03, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Curious about the revision of my comment, admittedly I am not familiar with the ins and outs of wikipedia guidelines, so I'm sorry if I stepped over the line in some regard. My guess would be the listing of the vandals IP address in the comment. If this is the reason I don't especially mind, although I would be interested in knowing which Wikipedia user utilizes that IP if you have the ability to use checkuser on them. I believe it is pertinent to the ongoing debate over the inclusion of the ED article, especially concerning issues of NPOV which have come up. --24.23.212.107 (talk) 07:18, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

I am pretty sure I know what's going on here. I have a non alphanumeric username and am linking through the romanized version of my username which redirect to my correct username, but signbot is signing it anyway. I realize this is probably more of a coding headache than is worth fixing, but I thought it might be worth noting for anyone else who decides to follow wikipedia's suggestion when they have foreign character usernames Does signbot look to make sure that the user links to their own talk page?
The easiest logical solution I can think of from a programming perspective would be to check if the username links to their own talk page, and if not, check to see if that talk page is a simple redirect to the proper one before having signbot sign the comment.
Let me know if you need any more clarification or want me to test anything for you!

Back in June 17, 2007 you deleted a page I created called Investing Strategy. You called it copywrited. I cannot figure out how to 'see' that page now, so I cannot review it. I presume you know how.
Can you please say what exactly was copywrited. Since it was mostly word-for-word what I have posted on my website I do not want to be in infringment there either.
But really, I do not believe anything was infringed. In fact the whole point of my website is to post the truths that are not available ANYWHERE else on the web. Certainly, if you thought the Wiki page was the same as my webpage, that is no problem. I certainly do not copywrite it ... I encourage its dissemination. Hello, here to bug you about your bot. Earlier today, an IP editor left a comment on my talk page but forgot to sign it. Naturally, SineBot dutifully came by and added the unsigned template here. Problem is, I have the {{bots}} template on my talk page header here, which is in turn transcluded onto my talk page. What I'm not sure about, and why I'm contacting you about it, is whether this is SineBot ignoring the exclusion template for some reason, or if he's simply not seeing it because it's transcluded through another template. If that's the case, then it would be my fault, for which I apologize for bugging you about it. Either way, thanks for your time. Hersfold (t/a/c) 04:02, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

submit a RFCU file on Bsharvy and Rachel63? Most of internet users in South Korea subscribe the services of three giant broadband companies, so if they lives in an urban or suburban area of Seoul, a checkuser result would likely say "inconclusive". However, Bsharvy speared that if no checkuser done, he might create multiple sock accounts which could cause more disruption. I've seen him around here for several months, so if he really determines to do something, he would practice it. I'm afraid my filing could conflict with your decision. I just want to assure whether Bsharvy speaks of the possible innocence. If you don't mind, I would submit a file right away. --Appletrees (talk) 13:13, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Greetings slakr,
I have contributed to the leg warmers page and was recently told it was vandalism. Leg warmers don't in fact serve any 'warming' function - it is a myth. There is nothing to prove otherwise. I had put on the page this information & because some wannabe dance instructor got upset over it (the truth) and decided to complain my edits have been construed as vandalism. I think wikipedia is a great source and I have contributed something, yet because a few misguided persons don't like it my edits have been reverted. I hope you take the time to give consideration to what I have said. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.104.252.62 (talk) 18:25, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Hi Slakr, wrt what I see now is a temporary kludge, your implementation of the establishedEditCount config directive, if you're going to continue this, I'd appreciate a way to opt out of it, ie. opt in to SineBot. No matter how many edits I have, I like having computers clean up after me, at least for signing posts. A 2-3 minute grace period would be nice (except on high-priority pages), it takes me that long to savour my pearls of wisdom before I realize that I forgot to sign. I do, however, definitely want SineBot to watch me always, I think that sentiment might be shared by a large proportion of editors who "should know better" but do occasionally forget. Cheers! While based on their editing history Rachel63 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) may be a sock of Bsharvy (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) this is not confirmed by checkuser, although they do edit from the same country. Squatt (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), on the other hand is the same editor as Bsharvy as confirmed by checkuser. You don't need to apologize to me for not revealing his IPs. I still can have a chance to get his more ips as looking through his contributions. However, the reason I asked you to reveal is that your statements seems very vague without any viewable evidences on the pages. Besides, your threat to Bsharvy is very disappointing and inappropriate as an admin. --Appletrees (talk) 20:58, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Howdy. Thanks much for SineBot.
User:SineBot#Where_SineBot_does_it says "All "talk:" pages are monitored by default."
Talk:Barack Obama has been pretty busy lately (go figure). Many anonymous posts are appearing, and SineBot apparently isn't signing them. (See e.g exchange at Talk:Barack_Obama#Cocaine.) I'm guessing that it should be. I don't see any type of "bots" tag on that page.
It's entirely possible that I'm not understanding what SignBot is supposed to do or how it does it, but I think that it would be very convenient if it would autosign posts to that page.
Again, thanks much! -- Writtenonsand (talk) 15:04, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

That some people will just never bother to sign their talk page posts? I just came across User talk:75.72.21.221, and your bot has had the misfortune of notifying this user on 20 separate occasions, preceded by 11 prior notifications by HagermanBot, yet still their most recent contributions show that they clearly aren't getting the message. I know it is possible for a user to opt out of automatic signing, but is it possible for a user to opt out of notification, or for you (or the bot automatically after a certain number of notifications) to do it on their behalf? Failing that, anyone fancy going about moving {{tilde}} to {{tilde1}}, and creating more warnings through {{tilde4}}? ;) 71.174.69.25 (talk) 05:29, 27 March 2008 (UTC) (User:Dreaded Walrus on Wikibreak)

Thank you for the notification on my talkpage. I would comment that I blocked DbelangeB for violating WP:NPA, which occured outside (but related to) the sockpuppetry case. Under the circumstances I have no voice regarding blocks for socking (although the courtesy is appreciated.)
I would, however, comment that I find it strange that the puppetmaster is being indef blocked - usually the socks are indef blocked and the puppetmaster has a determined tariff (which increases should other socks be found). If the puppetmaster is indef blocked then there is no restraint on them socking with impunity. If the consensus for the tariff is indef, then sobeit but it might be wise to confirm that first. You mention that Jeff Browaty lives on Jim Smith Drive. Jim Smith Drive is named after my father, who was a Court of Queen's Bench Judge. He was a City of Winnipeg Councillor, a School Board Trustee and very active in the Community. He never had anything to do with gay rights, you don't know what the hell you are talking about. I should know he is my father. Get your facts straight Slakr. There has never been an an Alderman Jim Smith of Winnipeg. Since the unification of Winnipeg members of City Council are called Councillors not Alderman. There never was anyone in the old city of Winnipeg prior to 1972 called Jim Smith either when members of the City of Winnipeg were called Alderman. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.200.39.152 (talk) 23:37, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Just wanted to raise your attention that SineBot has been regularly tagging vandal edits on Talk page with the unsignedIP template. This makes it difficult to spot these edits and revert them, as my watchlist hides bot edits; and even if I showed them, it's tough to watch for something with "SineBot" as the most recent edit as opposed to keeping an eye out for IP addresses. Two examples are here and here, though I admittedly am at a bit of a loss as to how exactly to address it. I just wanted to bring it to your attention, though. Cheers! --Bossi (talk • gallery • contrib) 00:24, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Other people can edit my user page, and have, and some friends being stupid have added my phone number... I of course deleted it, but I don't like it in the edit history...

Thank you for blocking this vandal. Bearian (talk) 16:20, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Hi. I would just like to say thanks for reverting some of the mass vandalism that appeared on some of my user pages today. ·Add§hore· Talk/Cont 19:08, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
RE: User:OscarJuan, I am trying to understand if you removed this because you feel is not appropriate to AIV or you agree the user should continue posting content and external inks that clearly violate policy. Jrod2 (talk) 02:48, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
I've noticed no activity from SineBot on the reference desks, or from the looks of it, anywhere since 18 April. --LarryMac | Talk 16:24, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
I'm sorry - I just can't seem to find the right place with info about this, so I guess I'm trying you. I uploaded a photo to teamawesome and stupidly left its original name, promo2, I believe. Someone else has uploaded a photo with the same name and it's somehow deleted mine or something. Can you direct me to the correct place to deal with this? ThanksssssGreener grasses (talk) 19:37, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
How do I get a copy of my article you deleted?2McDonnell (talk) 23:50, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
I'm not sure whether I should post this here or at SineBot's talk, but for most of the day I've been getting "unsigned comment" tags after most of my signatures. (Just search for my username at this page; it'll come up.) I always sign with four tildes, so your FAQ isn't much help to me. Furthermore, no one else seems to be having this problem (or at least not at AfD, where I hang out). Is there something wrong with my signature? If so, why does this only happen some of the time? Thanks in advance. Anturiaethwr 00:42, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Hi Slakr,
Why did you delete the Beacon Designer Free Edition page? The tool is unique and helps hundreds of users (research scientists) every day in selecting primers for an assay. The tool has been recognized by NCBI, ARS and many other reputable sources and has quite a buzz around it. TaqMan and SYBR Green are the two most powerful real time chemistries and till no other free tool has it, it is best to have this tool on Wikipedia.

Hi. You speedy deleted Les Schtroumpfs et le Cracoucass, which is more or less acceptable (it was a very short article, but it seemed quite clear what it was about). But I don't really understand why you removed backlinks to it, like you did in The Smurfs. Removing backlinks is normal practice when you close an AfD (since we don't want an article on that subject), but not when you remove a speedy (since this only indicates that the current article was unacceptable, but not that the subject is unacceptable). You also removed the redlink for this comic, but let all the redlinks above and below it stay (it was a list of titles of Smurfs comics, which have sold about a million per title). I don't think this had any benefit.Fram (talk) 07:58, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Is there some reason why the account was closed for The Stinger Report as soon as the final agreement towards changes to avoid deletion of the page created? It as if the page account was stopped as soon as it was agreed that it was now full filling the requirements. But also after it had questioned a particularly bland statement by one individual on just deleting without addressing the changes already made. Is this how Wiki operates, or is this a abuse of power to stop discussion? Kwp729 (talk) 23:25, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
The question has to be, has The Stinger Report done all that was asked of it to suit the criteria of the Wiki, or is it that it is being singled out for questioning how best to support these requests? Kwp729 (talk)
I'm sure SineBot will get me at the end of this post, but when I type 4 tildes at the end of my posts, my name doesn't get linked to my home page. Is there something I'm missing? Am I supposed to do this myself somehow? Look at this post that SineBot got me for. I'd really appreciate it if you or someone else would teach me how to sign my posts correctly. --Ladder to Heaven 02:29, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi !
Could you help me find a way to get a few articles revised and controlled by an impartial administrator.
Thank you !

That's a bit of a problem. The checkuser did come back as "unrelated", so the sockpuppet issue isn't primary. The concern is the user's rather combative attitude, and threat to edit war over maintenance tags, commented on by others: . The user was tag bombing immediately following reversion of an SPA's tag bombing of the very same articles. The user has gone back and forth on the issue, saying he'll continue adding the fact tags then saying he wouldn't do it...then justifying the addition of the tags. If you believe the user should be unblocked, I certainly wouldn't contest it. Dreadstar † 16:43, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Hello, Could you help me to make the Iowa State Cyclones Track and Field article better? I wondered if you could suggest any improvements or simple edits that I can make to improve the current article.

Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.
If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 04:33, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Hi, I currently hide bot edits on my watchlist to avoid the churn. However, I've noticed that SineBot has a habit of signing unhelpful comments at Talk:Rosa Parks, which I don't notice until I revert someone else. Is there some way that I can watch just SineBot edits, so I can check to see if it's hiding disruptive edits, without enabling all bot edits on my watchlist? Thanks, BanyanTree 07:37, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
I'm looking into this user's unblock request. Your block messages were quite unhelpful to my review: what is the sockpuppetry? Whose sockpuppet? Mangojuicetalk 16:36, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Hi! Hello! Howdy! You've been invited to the Dallas/Fort Worth meetup (part of Wikipedia:Meetup). If you are interested, visit our page and sign up and suggest something, or help us decide where and when the next meeting will be. Cheers!

SineBot wants to sign everything I've already signed. I don't know about how four tildes works for you, but here's what it produces for me: --Danorton 04:50, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply. Your instructions don't agree with the instructions on the preferences page, which reads "Raw signature (If unchecked, the contents of the box above will be treated as your nickname and link automatically to your user page." The "box above" is empty, so according to those instructions, unchecking that selection will result in a blank signature. Hmmm, let's see what happens when I follow your instructions: --Danorton (talk) 17:12, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
