@Joy, you could create a new category and populate with those articles, or you could simply remove them from the category. Given that the category was deleted because of SHAREDNAME, it should be sorted out on a case by case basis, there's no one category to move all the articles to. —Qwerfjkltalk 09:29, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
Yes, that is fine, but I'm wondering if after reading that discussion do you have a suggestion where do I make it more distinct, and less ostensibly about the name. Do we lose the dogs? Do we lose locations (Ilirska Bistrica)? Do we lose people referred to as Illyrian? Only historical events? Any hints as to how to organize these categories would be welcome. --Joy (talk) 10:24, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
@Joy, what categories are you referring to? I'm not sure I quite follow what you're asking. —Qwerfjkltalk 13:07, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
I'm asking about the content of the category that got deleted. It's no longer there so I imagine it must be impossible to follow, sorry. --Joy (talk) 14:51, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
@Joy, nothing needs to be done with it, which is why the category was deleted. —Qwerfjkltalk 14:55, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
I know that nothing *needs* to be done with it, but as I explained at considerable length in the linked discussion, there is merit to categorizing these topics. Certainly three other people didn't like the previous implementation, but I am convinced there should be some other way to cover at least some of that ground that would not run afoul of the guidelines on overcategorization. --Joy (talk) 14:58, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
@Joy, I'm afraid I mostly deal with closing categories. Perhaps Marcocapelle will be able to help? —Qwerfjkltalk 15:01, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
@Joy: if it is a notable topic, best thing is to write an article about it, in which you can link to already existing articles. Marcocapelle (talk) 17:23, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
Hello, Qwerfjkl,
I have a question about your bot. Why would it create Draft:Pyrocynical 2? If you look at the page log, you can see that this page is just contunally recreated by blocked accounts doing vandalism. Thanks. LizRead!Talk! 04:14, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
@Liz, I assume it was just edit conflicting, as the page creations always happen within the same minute of it being deleted. —Qwerfjkltalk 06:37, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
Hey, ummm... well, my only intention with the edit was add a bit of strange (but not exactly unknown or fake) data from a band that i really love. The problem i see is that apparently there are mistakes on the link additon on the Edit Section. If u can, pls explain me how to fix it. The information i added IS REAL, so i don't have bad intentions with the modification. Right? Good afternoon and i wait answers:] —Preceding unsigned comment added by DevonFlick (talk • contribs) 21:56, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
@DevonFlick, you seem to have used |title:= instead of |title=. To fix the error just replace the former with the latter. —Qwerfjkltalk 06:41, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
@MSGJ, sorry for the delay, I've finally gotten around to this and I have the code mostly working. —Qwerfjkltalk 15:22, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
Great! —Martin (MSGJ·talk) 08:11, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
@MSGJ, can you create a tracking category for this? Currently the only method I have to to check all talk pages of redirects, which is not very efficient. —Qwerfjkltalk 17:28, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
@MSGJ, that category looks good to me. Thanks. —Qwerfjkltalk 09:42, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
This is a redirect, classified as stub by the bot. - Altenmann>talk 16:08, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
@Altenmann, seems a minor issue to me. (Probably because of the prod it's not technically a redirect.) —Qwerfjkltalk 16:26, 18 August 2023 (UTC)

Comment/question: Please stop your bot from editing a page which is a redirect ~ my talk page is a redirect because i don't use it. Your bot should recognise this and respect it. In addition, it is not clear what the problem is with the edits; this is at least the second time Qwerfjkl bot has claimed an error, but the edits are compliant with the requirements of the CS1 referencing templates, so i don't understand the message. Thank you. Happy days, ~ LindsayHello 16:59, 20 August 2023 (UTC)
@LindsayH, that the bot is editing a redirect is indeed a bug and I will fix that within a few days (unfortunately you've caught me at a bad time, but I'll try to fix that soon). The error your edit introduced isn't your fault, but rather, you changed one of the references to
The edit filled out the |url=, causing the citation template to detect that it had a URL with no title, which triggered the error. The error may be easier to spot in the references section of the article, Onna. Hope that helps! —Qwerfjkltalk 20:46, 20 August 2023 (UTC)
Brilliant! Thanks for the explanation ~ i looked and relooked at the diff trying to work out what i had done, parsing and reparsing the parameters and contents; nothing seemed any different from the thousands of other CS1 edits Kahtar has made. Now i understand, i'll pop back to Onna and see if i can find the title for the ref. Thanks again! Happy days, ~ LindsayHello 06:14, 21 August 2023 (UTC)
Please stop your bot from editing a page which is a redirect
I don't know whether this is related to the previous report, but I'm tiring of needing to revert your bot's "Adding {{WikiProject banner shell}}; automatically assessed class as Stub (Task 19)" edits; redirects are not stubs: DIFF, DIFF, and DIFF. Thanks, wbm1058 (talk) 13:38, 21 August 2023 (UTC)
@Wbm1058, it isn't related the the above report. It is due to the length of time the bot takes to process articles; I'm ran the query it uses a while ago, and during the time the article it was going to edit was modified. This won't happen again because the task is finished, and if I ever run it again, the number of pages it would need to edit would be likely much smaller. Admittably I should have built better error checking into the code, I didn't expect much change on these talk pages, so hopefully there shouldn't be to many errors of this kind. Sorry for any trouble this caused you. —Qwerfjkltalk 20:02, 21 August 2023 (UTC)
FYI: This discussion got lost, and only the first category was tagged. I implemented the merge of that one yesterday night, apparently without noticing the other categories which are now in limbo. * Pppery *it has begun... 15:22, 22 August 2023 (UTC)
Hello - I see that the discussion has been closed. Now, how do we go about actually moving the category? Thx. Gjs238 (talk) 12:09, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
@Gjs238, don't woorry about that. I'll take care of it, within a few days. —Qwerfjkltalk 13:29, 24 August 2023 (UTC)

As part of the changes for the better diff handling of paragraph splits, improved detection of splits is being rolled out. Over the last two weeks, we deployed this support to group0 and group1 wikis. This week it will be deployed to group2 wikis.
All Special:Contributions pages now show the user's local edit count and the account's creation date.
Wikisource users can now use the prpbengalicurrency label to denote Bengali currency characters as page numbers inside the <pagelist> tag.
Two preferences have been relocated. The preference "Enable the visual editor" is now shown on the "Editing" tab at all wikis. Previously it was shown on the "Beta features" tab at some wikis. The preference "Use the wikitext mode inside the visual editor, instead of a different wikitext editor" is now also shown on the "Editing" tab at all wikis, instead of the "Beta features" tab.
Changes later this week
The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 29 August. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 30 August. It will be on all wikis from 31 August (calendar).
All right-to-left language wikis, plus Korean, Armenian, Ukrainian, Russian, and Bulgarian Wikipedias, will have a link in the sidebar that provides a short URL of that page, using the Wikimedia URL Shortener. This feature will come to more wikis in future weeks.
Future changes
The removal of the DoubleWiki extension is being discussed. This extension currently allows Wikisource users to view articles from multiple language versions side by side when the <=> symbol next to a specific language edition is selected. Comments on this are welcomed at the phabricator task.
A proposal has been made to merge the second hidden-categories list (which appears below the wikitext editing form) with the main list of categories (which is further down the page). More information is available on Phabricator; feedback is welcome!

Comment/question: I'm not sure why this problem was reported as it arose from the same error (a missing title parameter) as in the previous report and, also, the citation was not a bare url. Possible reporting bug? I've fixed the problem by adding the source title. Thanks.
@PearlyGigs, the edit introduced two errors, a bare URL error and a missing title error. These errors frequently occur in the same edit, so normally they would be handled together and the bot would have notified you of one error. For some reason there seems to have been a delay, as it have a notification almost immediately after about the same edit. This is probably due to some kind of lag somewhere, but it seems a rare occurrence so I don't think there's much I can do about it. —Qwerfjkltalk 20:43, 29 August 2023 (UTC)

@JarrahTree, yes, I was editing 200,000 pages, I expected there to be some false positives. As I founf the rate was too high, I stopped tagging wikiprojects. Would you like me to go through and undo the bot's edits on pages in that category? —Qwerfjkltalk 15:25, 5 September 2023 (UTC)

Hi Qwerfjkl. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at the permissions page in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page or ask via the NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:
Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page, including checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline.
Please review some of our flowcharts (1, 2) to help ensure you don't forget any steps.
Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies. —Ingenuity(talk•contribs) 13:17, 9 September 2023 (UTC)

@Greenvillette, your edits were of poor quality, for example this one on Itihas (2002 film) had mutilple spelling and punctuation errors and contained irrelevant information. Here Materialscientist said in their edit summary that they reverted you for not citing sources, and reverted you again when you redid the edit. You can always ask the person who reverted you to explain why, but they will be unwilling to help you if you edit disruptively like this, and continue re-editing once reverted. —Qwerfjkltalk 15:03, 8 September 2023 (UTC)
