- I would advise against accepting this nomination NDS. You're a great editor and I'm friends with you on here but you have had some serious red flags in the past few weeks/months that will make me vote Neutral. (I'll not oppose you as you have potential and I cannot bear myself to do so) Now is simply not the time to think of Adminship my friend and I suggest that when you do think that you are ready, ask another admin that you know like HJ and see what he thinks. - I've deleted the page so that any future RfA will appear as your first. FWiW, I think declining was probably the wise choice. Christmas might be a good time to start thinking about adminship. If you want to be an admin (and you shouldn't see it a s a natural progression or a "career move"), I'm sure you'll do a good job in the future, but I don't think you're ready yet. - If any questions come up, I will ask. I'm glad you decided to return. I was looking back at some of things I did a year ago as an IP, and probably the largest was when we first met and started the Hottrix article. Sorry, guys. The wikification drive has been bumped to October. You might have noticed already, however. I'm amazed how many people came on as soon as I sent out the invite. With a few more, we can easily meet our goal. Just remember. Concentrate your firepower on the 2008 articles, and you should have no problems. Great work! Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors Backlog Elimination Drive!
 Participation report — We have 71 participants in the September drive. 95 people signed up for the July drive, and in May we had 36. Progress report — We have been making solid progress in eliminating the 2008 articles from the backlog so far. If we continue to focus our firepower we can completely wipe out 2008 from the queue. Overall volumes are lower than expected though, with nearly a thousand articles yet to be done if we are to meet our overall target. If you have not yet participated in the drive, we recommend you do so. If each person who signed up edits one article per day from now till the end of the month we can eliminate another 1,065 articles from the backlog. All contributions are appreciated. Announcement: credit for 10k+ articles — Participants editing a 10k word article may claim credit for two 5k+ articles on the leaderboard. Those that edit a 15k word article may claim credit for three. Regardless, the article is still counted as a single article in the tallies. Reminder — Articles from the Requests page can be included in your tally, even if they do not have a copy edit tag. This is a great place to go if you are interested in finding a higher quality article to work on. Article of the month – 2010 Carfax 400, a recent good article
The 2010 Carfax 400 was a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race that was held on August 15, 2010 at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan. Contested over 200 laps, it was the twenty-third race of the 2010 Sprint Cup Series season. The race was won by Kevin Harvick for the Richard Childress Racing team. Denny Hamlin finished second, and Carl Edwards, who started twenty-fourth, clinched third. Pole position driver Kasey Kahne maintained his lead into the first corner to begin the race, but Jimmie Johnson, who started in the second position on the grid, took the lead before the first lap was over. Afterward, Greg Biffle became the leader, and would eventually lead to the race high of 66 laps. Tony Stewart led after the final pit stops, ahead of Hamlin and Harvick. Harvick helped Hamlin to become the leader, but with twelve laps left, Harvick gained on Hamlin and claimed the first position with eleven lap remaining. Harvick maintained his position to claim his first Sprint Cup victory at Michigan International Speedway. There were five cautions and nineteen lead changes among nine different drivers throughout the course of the race, Harvick's third win of the season. The result maintained the first position in the Drivers' Championship and clinched him a position in the Chase. He remained 293 points ahead of second place driver Jeff Gordon and 353 ahead of Denny Hamlin. Chevrolet maintained its lead in the Manufacturers' Championship, thirty points ahead of Toyota and sixty-one ahead of Ford, with thirteen races remaining in the season. A total of 105,000 people attended the race, while 4.917 million watched it on television. Hi NSD. I see you're using Huggle - how is it? Thought you're on a Macintosh, so how are you using Huggle (Windows computer, Wine, VM, etc.)? Just curious, because I tried it out on a Windows XP virtual machine (now deleted as it was taking up too much space, I hardly used it, and was slow) and it was really powerful when compared to the current version of igloo. - Huggle is awesome! I carry it on a flash drive, and I use it when I come across a Windows computer, such as when I'm at school. It is way more powerful than igloo.
