Thanks to everyone's efforts to the GA Sweeps process, we are currently over 90% done with only 226 articles remain to be swept! As always, I want to thank you for using your time to ensure the quality of the older GAs. With over 50 members participating in Sweeps, that averages out to about 4 articles per person! If each member reviews an article once a week this month (or several!), we'll be completely finished. At that point, awards will be handed out to reviewers. As an added incentive, if we complete over 100 articles reviewed this month, I will donate $100 to Wikipedia Forever on behalf of all GA Sweeps participants. I hope that this incentive will help to increase our motivation for completing Sweeps while supporting Wikipedia in the process. If you have any questions about reviews or Sweeps let me know and I'll be happy to get back to you. Again, thank you for taking the time to help with the process, I appreciate your efforts! --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talk • contrib) 00:12, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Hello Mm40! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 11 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 669 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Hi Mm40, it’s me: Artichoke-Boy.
As you may or may not know (or care), I’ve recently been creating a potential article here on a cognitive performance test, that I'm planning on publishing. I think that I may be finished. I’m also planning on making a DYK out of it. Even though I’ve looked it over numerous times, I just wanted to check with you if it has enough prose for a DYK nomination, and if the references are okay and such. Just a brief run-through would suffice.
Thanks a bunch...a really appreciate your help. ---Artichoke-Boy (talk)(sign) 16:55, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

I noticed your comment at Staxringold's talk page about possibly working on NFL lists. What do you think about working on an awards FT, as has been done for the NHL, NBA and MLB? I had been thinking about just working on a few isolated lists, such as National Football League Offensive Player of the Year Award, but if you're interested, we can strive for an FT. Please be more careful with your script. Your edit summary claimed delinking because of WP:OVERLINK yet, you removed the only link to Shanghai in the entire article, certainly not a case of overlinking.--Crossmr (talk) 02:23, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

New Statistics Table There has been an upgrade to the WP 1.0 bot that updates our project's summary table. The new table lists all page classes including Portal-class, Redirect-class, and Disambig-class. We now have a better picture of the scope of the WikiProject and the pages that we cover. New York Times to charge for access The New York Times is an invaluable resource for properly referencing articles, but especially due to its extensive archives and coverage of New Jersey issues. The announcement that metered content will be started in 2011 has the potential to make article sourcing much more difficult. It also causes a need to update linked sources in articles before all of the NYT links go dead. Any link can be archived on demand by using WebCite. We can help avoid dead links by archiving any article sources from the NYT. |

BLP Issue Boils Over There are discussions all over the 'pedia about deleting close to 50,000 unreferenced Biographies of Living People. We won't get into a rehash here, but let's just look at what we can do. There is a new item on the project task list for sourcing BLPs. All articles that are in both Category:People from New Jersey and Category:All unreferenced BLPs are now available on this work list. These articles need to be sourced, PRODded, or sent to AfD. An ounce of prevention Unreferenced BLPs are one of the catgories regularly listed in the WPNJ Cleanup listing. New articles are also a prime location to find articles that do not yet have references. You can keep an eye on the New Articles list to help prevent the workload from getting any larger. Can we do more? There are bots that will automatically add the WPNJ Project Banner to all articles in our designated categories if we have consensus to request it. Join the discussion here. |

Thanks to everyone's amazing efforts in February, we have reviewed all of the articles and are now finished with Sweeps! There are still about 30 articles currently on hold, and once those reviews are completed, I will send you a final message about Sweeps process stats including the total number of articles that were passed and failed. If you have one of these open reviews, be sure to update your count when the review is completed so I can compile the stats. You can except to receive your award for reviewing within the next week or two. Although the majority of the editors did not start Sweeps at the beginning in August 2007 (myself included), over 50 editors have all come together to complete a monumental task and improve many articles in the process. I commend you for sticking with this often challenging task and strengthening the integrity of the GA WikiProject as well as the GAs themselves. I invite you to take a break from reviewing (don't want you to burn out!) and then consider returning/starting to review GANs and/or contribute to GAR reviews. With your assistance, we can help bring the backlog down to a manageable level and help inspire more editors to improve articles to higher classes and consider reviewing themselves. Again, thank you for putting up with difficult reviews, unhappy editors, numerous spam messages from me, and taking the time to help with the process, I appreciate your efforts! --Happy editing! The article Rodrigo Araújo Costa has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Jogurney (talk) 14:50, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

Hi, you might remember you helped me a while ago with my first GA review. I've a favour to ask. I'm reviewing Jim Brandstatter at the moment, the review is here. The article is not very good and my instinct was to fail it at once. However, I though it was worth making some suggestions. The nominator does not seem to accept some of the things I've said. However, he has started to make changes but it still needs a lot of work, in my view. Could you have a look and see what you think? Advice would be appreciated! Thanks. --Sarastro1 (talk) 20:05, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
Hello. I saw your name on the Good Article Nominations mentors page. As my first attempt to review a Good Article Nomination I have been attempting to review 2009 Michigan Wolverines football team; the review is here. I'm concerned that the quality of the prose, especially in the game summary sections, is not at the level I saw in the other GA season summaries. I'd like a second opinion on whether I'm being reasonable compared to what is generally expected for prose quality under the GA criteria. Thanks for your attention. –Grondemar 22:54, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

First off, on behalf of myself and my co-coordinator Wizardman, I would like to thank you for the efforts that you have made so far in this GAN backlog elimination drive. It has been nothing short of a success, and that is thanks to you. See this Signpost article about what this drive has achieved so far.
We're currently heading into the final week of the drive. At this time, if you have any GANs on review or on hold, you should be finishing off those reviews. Right now, we have more GANs on review or on hold than we do unreviewed. If you're going to start a GA review, please do so now so you can complete it by the end of the month and so that the nominator has a full 7-day window to address any concerns. See you at the finish! |

For those who have accomplished certain objectives in the drive, awards will be coming shortly. Again, thank you for your help in the drive, and I hope you continue to help review GA nominations and overall improve the quality of articles here on Wikipedia. |

Hello, Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of Phi Kappa Psi brothers/archive1 was listed 20 days ago, and is now also listed as one of the "nominations urgently needing reviews." So far four reviewers have weighed in. All objections have been met. There are two votes of support, and none opposed. As per The Rambling Man, "typically, although not prescriptively, Dabomb or I will look for around four votes of support." He also suggested that I contact "regular reviewers" such as yourself to see if you would be willing to comment. I'm happy to address constructive criticism. Hopefully upon resolving critiques, if you believe that the list is worthy, you will also grant support. Thanks, NYCRuss ☎ 16:57, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks very much to all who helped with the Guild of Copy Editors Backlog Elimination Drive. We were very close to meeting our target of 7,500 articles remaining in the backlog. Our most shining success is the incredible reduction in the backlog of Special Requests. That part of the project saw a drop from 62 articles in the queue, some dating back to February of 2009, down to a stunning THREE, all of which were being edited at the close of the drive. The Special Requests page will now be a great resource for people looking to tidy up their article in advance of a GA or FA nomination, instead of a place where articles go to die.
Moving forward The drive has not only forced a great leap forward in reducing the backlog. It has helped promote the Guild, and led to a greater awareness of the level of vigilance required to keep the backlog manageable. Ideas such as charts, graphs, and barnstars helped motivate editors, and meeting other users helped quell any feelings gnomish editors may have had in the past that they were toiling all alone. Keep up the good work people!! Stats

Hi! Since you are familiar with reviewing Lists of National Treasures of Japan, I thought you could help out with the following... List of National Treasures of Japan (archaeological materials) is presently a featured list candidate and marked as Nominations urgently needing reviews which means that it is in danger of failing the nomination due to a lack of reviews. I'd be happy, if you could have a look at the list and leave comments, questions or suggestions at the nomination page. The criteria to be checked against are found here. Hi, I'd like to invite you to participate in the Guild of Copy Editors July 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive. In May, about 30 editors helped remove the {{copyedit}} tag from 1175 articles. The backlog is still over 7500 articles, and extends back to the beginning of 2008! We really need your help to reduce it. Copyediting just a couple articles can qualify you for a barnstar. Serious copyeditors can win prestigious and exclusive rewards. See the event page for more information. And thanks for your consideration. ɳorɑfʈ Talk! 15:00, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

The Military history WikiProject coordinator election has started. You are cordially invited to help pick fourteen new coordinators from a pool of twenty candidates. Hi! Since you already reviewed a List of National Treasures of Japan, I thought you could help out with the following. List of National Treasures of Japan (crafts: swords) is currently a featured list candidate and listed as Nominations urgently needing reviews which means that it might fail unless somebody (you ;-) ) reviews the list. So far it received two "support" votes and one "oppose". All issues raised in the oppose vote have been addressed (the reviewer, "The Rambling Man", just needs to revisit the page). I'd be happy if you could take the time to review the list and leave comments, questions, suggestions and a vote ("support" or "oppose") on the nomination page. Thanks. bamse (talk) 09:46, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors Backlog Elimination Drive!
The Wikipedia Guild of Copy-Editors invites you to participate in the November 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive, a month-long effort to reduce the backlog of articles that require copy-editing. The drive will begin on 1 November at 00:00 (UTC) and will end on 30 November at 23:59 (UTC). The goal for this drive is to reduce the backlog by 10% (approximately 500 articles). We hope to focus our efforts on the oldest three months (January, February, and March 2009) and the newest three months (September, October, and November 2010) of articles in the queue. Sign-up has already begun at the November drive page, and will be open throughout the drive. If you have any questions or concerns, please leave a message on the drive's talk page. Before you begin copy-editing, please carefully read the instructions on the main drive page. Please make sure that you know how to copy-edit, and be familiar with the Wikipedia Manual of Style. Awards and barnstars A range of barnstars will be awarded to active participants, some of which are exclusive to GOCE drives. More information on awards can be found on the main drive page. WikiProject Good Articles will be running a GAN backlog elimination drive for the entire month of March. The goal of this drive is to bring the number of outstanding Good Article nominations down to below 50. This will help editors in restoring confidence to the GAN process as well as actively improving, polishing, and rewarding good content. If you are interested in participating in the drive, please place your name here. Awards will be given out to those who review certain numbers of GANs as well as to those who review the most. On behalf of my co-coordinator Wizardman, we hope we can see you in March. MuZemike delivered by MuZebot 00:10, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

Hey there! Saw you have offered to serve as a GAN mentor and are interested in sports. Well my main interest especially here is sports, and while I have previously reviewed GAs, I have been mostly inactive since late 2009 and could use a refresher. I was hoping you could help me out a little in whatever way you see fit. Thanks! MobileSnail 04:37, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
