Could you upload Image:Actino.jpg to Commons? Thanks. (pl:User:Kkaktus) 89.78.99.129 (talk) 22:30, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading Image:Sholokov and Khrushchev 1959.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:46, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Hi there Graham, I've left a couple of comments over at Talk:Rotavirus (and will add more soon). Best, Fvasconcellos (t·c) 18:21, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
Graham, I've left a quite note on the FAC wrt restructuring. I should get a chance to scan the article again this evening before offering my opinion at FAC. Cheers, Colin°Talk 19:33, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, Colin. Graham. --GrahamColmTalk 19:48, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
No problem - It means a lot that you *aren't* a lay person :) Articles really seem to work out best (in both readability and correctness) when you have people on both sides of the fence. -Ravedave (talk) 17:13, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Congratulations, Graham, on your FA star. Well deserved. You can go to bed now :-) Colin°Talk 21:03, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
Please note on the animal testing page. References for everything are not necessary. Especially in cases where everyone is likely to agree, such as "Pavlov used dogs to describe classical conditioning", a reference is overkill. As a caveat, references ARE necessary for any point that someone is likely to challenge. The Wikipedia policies governing this are at WP:V. Happy editing.--Animalresearcher (talk) 19:22, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, that was uncharacteristically ill-mannered of me.--GrahamColmTalk 20:28, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Sheesh. What a Wiki day, huh? :-) SandyGeorgia (Talk) 19:48, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
See you 08.30 (UTC)
I'm glad you enjoyed the article, and thank you very much for the feedback. Nitpicking is requested and expected at FAC. :) --Laser brain (talk) 22:15, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi Graham, sorry it took so long for me to go back and check your comments - it's a time difference thing - when you get up, I go to bed ;). I wish I could help fix the extremely minor comments myself, but it seems even my links may get reverted. Never mind! It looks good and I hope to see the article on FA soon! That brings me around to Herpes simplex again. I just put it up for peer review and wondered, if any comments come back, if you'd like to put your good skills to improving that article to FA - can't think of anyone better to ask!!! All the best, ~ Ciar ~ (Talk to me!) 19:14, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Dear Graham, congratulations for bringing Rotavirus to featured status. It has been a pleasure watching you evolve into one of Wiki's finest, and to see your diligence, resilience, concern for others, and good humor along with your excellence in editing. All the best, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 21:41, 15 March 2008 (UTC) |
Compliments on the rotavirus page - it has rightly made it to featured status. Herpes zoster is presently the WP:MCOTW. I'm sure that one is only a few nudges away from GA or FA status! JFW | T@lk 22:26, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
שָׁלוֹם and many thanks. I took another look at Herpes zoster this morning. Yep, it's on my list. Thanks JFW for all your support. Graham. --GrahamColmTalk 22:32, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
See you 07:00, 16/03/08 A good day; thanks. 8-) Graham. --GrahamColmTalk 22:50, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
Hey there. I just finished writing the theme section to One day... why don't you check it out? I'm hoping to give it a good run this time and hopefully get it up to featured status in a few months. LOTRrules (talk) 16:25, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Hello Graham, thanks for the input on the cannon FAC, and for the copyedits. I replied here, just to let you know in case you're not watching the page. · AndonicO Hail! 18:09, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
Hey, Graham; I'm kind of swamped and wanted to ask you a favor. Remember the issue you had with trying to read an article about American football and get through all the lingo? I'm having the same issue with Ernie Toshack and Clem Hill on cricket. Do you play, know or understand cricket? I can't make heads nor tails of them. Do you have time to look at my comments on the FACs and help sort out some of the lingo, if you know cricket? In my case, it could be a combo of British English and not knowing cricket. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 19:21, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Hi Sandy, I'll take at look at them. Graham. --GrahamColmTalk 19:23, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Yes, thanks Graham, Monday's fine. I feel guilty now for triggering an oppose, but I guess it wasn't only me. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 21:07, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Hi Graham and thanks for the review. I will address those points you made in the review this morning (in and around my responsibilities to my employer!). Growing up with cricket I find removing jargon from cricket articles the most difficult part of the entire FA process but it certainly improves the article no end. -- Mattinbgn\talk 21:43, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the message. Yes, the sun did shine but it was rather cold. Can we have Spring now please?
I'm glad you're watching Ketogenic diet as I will be asking you to critically review it later, if you wouldn't mind. At the moment, I think the prose is more a collection of facts than something enjoyably readable. There are also a few holes in the comprehensiveness-front that I should fill as I work through my sources. Bearing in mind its early stage of development, do you have any initial comments? (Don't spend long on this, as the text may change).
Colin°Talk 18:22, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Hi Colin and welcome home. Your article is coming along very well. I've been dying to change this: A number of studies demonstrate to. Several studies have demonstrated.. but as you weren't around to ask, I left it alone:). I would feel honoured to review it for you and anything else I can help with of course. The clocks go forward at the weekend, so that should give the onset of spring a nudge. Nice to have you back. Graham. P.S. I'm waiting to see if the meds put Genetics in their trophy cabinet! --GrahamColmTalk 18:33, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Graham, I've revised the paragraph that contained the offending sentence. I was reluctant to ask someone to review at this stage as I didn't want to waste anyone's time on what might only be an early draft. But, of course, if you are "dying" to help then go ahead and improve. It would be useful to me, at this stage of producing the initial content, to know what you struggled with and what you found interesting or not. I suspect there may be text that contains (at that point) unexplained details or jargon. It is very hard to spot all the problems with one's own text. It would also be great to have someone to bounce ideas off of. For example, I'm wondering whether the photos are too static. I could take one showing a Ketostix being held against the scale, or pouring the Liquigen out of the bottle. If you have some ideas/comments, perhaps we could move this conversation over to the article talk page. Cheers, Colin°Talk 23:10, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Graham, do you have time to review Ima Hogg at FAC? Many of the active FAC reviewers worked on it, reducing the reviewer pool, and it needs an independent review. Best regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 18:55, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Date linking; methinks you're confused :-) Tell me where the confusion is and I'll try to help you sort it out. Basically, what WP:MOSDATE says is that either you link all dates or you link no dates, and when you leave raw dates, the formatting must be consistent. But when you link dates, you link all full dates (month day year) and all month day combos, as those need to work with user prefs. Solo years and month year combos aren't linked, since those don't depend on user prefs. Does that clear it up? SandyGeorgia (Talk) 22:03, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your help Graham. The changes were fine and you might want to follow up since I have now done the other requests. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 05:25, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Hi there — SandyGeorgia pointed me to you as someone who's willing to give reviews of potential FACs, and I was wondering if you could take a look at 2005 ACC Championship Game when you have a spare moment. It's an article about a particular game of American football, and I'm interested in getting feedback on how understandable it is to someone who knows nothing about American football. Any comments or feedback you'd care to give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. JKBrooks85 (talk) 23:23, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Fantastic job! Your comments have definitely helped, and I was able to pick over a few more things that I should've changed earlier as well. If it's not too much trouble, could you take another look at it? I've responded to your comments on the article talk page, but there's a few outlying things that I wasn't sure about. In addition, I'm always available if you ever need someone who knows nothing about cricket to take a look at an article. :) Thanks again! JKBrooks85 (talk) 07:28, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
If you have a minute can you refine the caption on the Image:ElecMicro of HIV Retrovirus serum isolate Samp-HM47.jpg. I wanted to get that straightened out before I copied it to commons. I'm guessing that is TEM, but like I said before, I'm not certain at these things. -Optigan13 (talk) 02:15, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Nice job on "Miss Ima"! | |
To all of the excellent editors who were part of the Karanacs-led collaboration to bring Ima Hogg to featured status, it was a pleasure working with you on such a fine article about a great lady. Thank you so much for your contribution to this fun collaboration. Best regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 03:32, 30 March 2008 (UTC) |
I've given it many copyedits, but am prolly not going to see the same problems you and others will see. Had a LoC request for a while to no end, but asked Malleus for a c/e and put a notice at the board of the Scottish cabal. See what happens. No, sorry, it's better if articles are fully copy-edited before being presented at FAC, (and please do not shout). I would be happy to look at the article later but I'm too busy to copy-edit it for you. --GrahamColmTalk 12:36, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Graham, congratulations on getting a shit article to the Main Page. Will we have to put up with any more of these crap subjects from you? Or have you made a rash decision to have something to eat first? Colin°Talk 16:50, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your comments and photo tweaks. If you are interested, there's a whole WP department who do this sort of thing: Wikipedia:Graphic Lab/Images to improve? Since I'm planning to replace those pics, I wouldn't want you wasting too much time on them. I'm very keen to hear more comments from you on unclear text and such like. I may be able to give other editors a hard time over their prose, but that doesn't mean I'm able to knock out "brilliant prose" myself :-(. The fact that (I assume) you know nothing about the subject means you've got much fresher eyes than me. Colin°Talk 18:17, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
Graham, no hurry. Enjoy your Guinness. Only had time to pop in today and similar tomorrow. I'll try to respond to any questions but revising the text may take longer. Now you've read through, have you any ideas about perhaps reorganising the sections? Did you see Sandy's message at WP:MED about readability metrics. Made me think about some of your comments about "non-encyclopaedic" language (which I fully agree with -- I expect a level of precise and formal prose from an encyclopaedia). In trying to sound formal, do we sometimes alienate our readers by picking big words? Achieving the right balance isn't easy. Colin°Talk 21:44, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

We try to create a collegial spirit (very much the spirit of Wikipedia), so I hope you will watchlist the FA-Team page and any Mission pages which interest you. Thanks again, Geometry guy 20:02, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
hello,
another user gave the article a quick copy-edit. would you mind double checking to see if anything still needs attention after the clean up. Also, I'd rather keep the audio clips in tact for the time being. I'm working of gathering sources for commentary on Jackson's vocal/musical style and I dont want to have any important clips deleted in case i find exceptional analysis since I don't have the ability to create new clips. Thankyou for your time! Bookkeeperoftheoccult (talk) 09:34, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
About a month ago, you graciously reviewed the article 2005 ACC Championship Game for me. During the past month, I've upgraded the article and incorporated your suggestions. I've just recently resubmitted the article for featured article candidacy, and I'd appreciate it if you could take another look at the article to see if it now meets your FA standards. Any comments, questions, or support would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. JKBrooks85 (talk) 22:36, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I thought you were too busy. Is there a better way of displaying my drawings other than using gallery? Can that picture of my study somehow go next to the portrait (age 15). And everytime I try to incorporate userboxes, they go all over the place. Whatever you can do I'm sure will be better than my feeble efforts. (You can see the user boxes I would like in the earlier versions). I'd like a nice border too! If you could fix this for me, I'll be your best friend for a week ;-). Graham.
