Why did you block Fff12221? For what I saw it looked quite constructive, adding flags at the right places. L293D (☎ • ✎) 15:06, 27 July 2018 (UTC)

News and updates for administrators from the past month (July 2018).
Hey Hey It's Saturday is being targeted by an IP hopping vandal who keeps introducing word bloat and American spellings into an Australian English article. "favorite" and "meager" instead of "favourite" and "meagre" for example. Paul Benjamin Austin (talk) 07:16, 7 August 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for taking care of the troll

It was a real word that is used at those communities, i think it may help the people knowing the real meaning of PRL and be aware of it's different meanings — Preceding unsigned comment added by Name1111 (talk • contribs) 03:00, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
i am not trolling, and i am doing my best to write in English which it is not my mother language. so please stop correcting my grammar mistakes and show some respect for my efforts and i know that this term a bad one so i tried to explain it on the site to aware people, as they making fun of me once — Preceding unsigned comment added by Name1111 (talk • contribs) 03:11, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
Sir, Why you considered my cited info on Imran Khan as not reliable. All words were authentic as words in Urdu in the cited Utube interviews of Imran Khan and also part of his own book. I apologize, if you don’t understand Urdu, but this info has encyclopedic value of his views on spread betting, buy/selling stocks and gambling; as he is in position to enact laws in Pakistan. I would appreciate you relook and advise specifically where you question reliability. Thanks

All links a relevant and they include topical articles. The resource that I linked is a powerful authority website in philately. You just waste all my work for Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaccatuk (talk • contribs) 21:58, 12 September 2018 (UTC)

Northwind: Greek Heavy Metal band from the '80s which released two albums; Northcomin' (1982-Vertigo-Polygram) and Mythology (1987-EMI). Re-release of 'Mythology' in vinyl (2018-EMI). (Members: Con.J.Papadimitriou, Kostas Nikolaides,Panos Tsakiroglou, Ath. Tsimoudis — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.38.145.131 (talk) 13:08, 19 September 2018 (UTC)
I suspect that this is a case of two bands having the same name, one that might be notable and one that was clearly not notable back in 2011 when the article was deleted. I checked the website for Polydor records and there is no Northwind group listed, so I can not verify if it is the same band as the one deleted in 2011. The band whose article I deleted back in 2011 was clearly not notable at the time because it was newly formed and had released no records. It appears to be some teenagers' brand new band. The name Northwind (band) is not a particularly unique name, so having two bands with the same name is entirely plausible. Going back to the band you are referring to, you are welcome to create an account and write a new article about the band, but there is no reason for me to undelete the article from 2011 as it was clearly non-notable at the time of deletion and there is nothing salvageable from the deleted article. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 17:26, 27 February 2014 (UTC)
Dear Gogo Dodo,
WOT?? My genuine & beautifully crafted effort to help "build an encyclopedia" is no more! By the way, do I qualify as a newbie?? If so, am I (& my work) therefore exempt from being bitten?? Is this my 'get out of gaol free' card?? ;-)
Anyway, on a slightly more serious note (& with details for other readers), I acknowledge the "G8. Pages dependent on a non-existent or deleted page" policy rationale for the deletion. However, this policy specifically "excludes any page that is useful to Wikipedia". I deliberately wrote the page to be highly useful to Wikipedia by (hopefully) acting as a seed for the creation for a long-overdue article on Roger Franklin, a highly notable Australian journalist/author/editor who crafts the online version of Quadrant, one of Australia's most venerable conservative cultural/political/literary magazines (& one which was formerly secretly funded by the CIA).
Significantly, he has also been the focus of a national scandal when he speculated upon the virtues of a possible terrorist-type bombing and consequent butchering of the cast and audience of Q&A, one of the national broadcaster's (the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's) most prominent live TV discussion programmes. This was apparently because he despised the way some of these people exercised their freedom of speech to state opinions he didn't agree with (where have we also encountered these sort of terrorist lusts in recent history?).
If this journalist was a Muslim, the article on him would have been written long ago in a white heat of mass outrage. As things stand, I have tried to (hopefully) attract the interest of other editors in collaborating on the building of a suitable page by creating a talk page (with links from other related pages) which outlines some initial points of notability and suggests a possible prime source for details & citation. It is a pity that all that work is currently lost to Wikipedia and yet more worthwhile links that were once blue are now red (you'll notice I'm not an fan of Deletionism, along with these people).
So, in order to help "build an encyclopedia" with at least one more important article, I would be grateful if you would please un-delete this talk page and allow it to stand with the addition of a "G8-exempt" template (like the one below) so that it can remain undisturbed until the article on Franklin is finally written. This encyclopedia is, after all, a work in progress. :-) {{G8-exempt}}
I hope this proposal will have your support. If you have any other suggestions, I'd be very interested to hear them. Cheers! 110.22.191.65 (talk) 04:34, 21 September 2018 (UTC)
