I see you deleted the Head West album article because the artist has no article. Bob Welch has an article and this album has been effectively packaged as a Bob Welch solo album for nearly 40 years. Bretonbanquet (talk) 23:02, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
Hello,
I do not understand why you deleted my page, I am new to Wikipedia and am just learning how to use. After I received your message I began adding to my page, it is for my late uncle who was a prominent lawyer in Edmonton Alberta, Canada. It was his request I make him a wikipedia page. It would be much appreciated if you would re-add my page back. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lawprofqc (talk • contribs) 23:19, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
Just a thought, your edit to Exidor's page is understandable, except it leaves the page showing a block warning at 2213 followed by an indef block only 11 minutes later at 2224. With the reason for blocking removed it erroneously creates the impression you were trigger happy. Moriori (talk) 00:12, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
Hello, I understand my page was merely a link to a website when you first viewed it. However, after I gathered my information I began writing my in-depth article. However you did not allow for enough time for me to compile all my information. I would appreciate if you could re-add my article again. Or if you can inform me as to how to re-add my information again.
It would appear that the IP you recently blocked, User talk:109.76.191.188, is circumventing their block by using other IP's, which according to Geolocate all derive from the exact same place. The editing style is also the same with gaps either side each punctuation. All these edits are after they were blocked.

Hello Ed,
I don't understand why my article is still stating that it is up for deletion. As you can see I have added new information to the article so it is no longer a link to a website. Could you please guide me as to what I should be doing to get rid of the deletion message.
Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lawprofqc (talk • contribs) 03:35, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
Hi Ed,
I've noticed that the Plasticity/Adult stem cell pluripotency section of the article on adult stem cells ends with VSEL however before Kucia et al discovered these cells, a professor by the name of Henry Young had already discovered them including another type of more naive stem cells called BLSCs. I wanted to add this paragraph to the section, just after the VSEL info, but don't know how to? Here is the text:
Another discovery by Young et al has identified a similar small pluripotent, or even totipotent stem cell residing in most mammalian tissues. These cells termed Blastomere Like Stem Cells (BLSCs) have shown pluripotent potential by way of expressing cell surface markers such as CEACAM, CD66e, SSEA -1, SSEA-3, SSEA-4 and transcription factors Oct 3/4, Nanog and Nanos. This stem cell displays a phenotypic characteristic of being extremely small at less that 2 to 3 microns in size and has a normal karyotype. Additionally culture of these cells has shown at least 66 specialist precursor cell development as well as potential gamete formation.
You can find proof and reference of this on these journals Adult-derived stem cells and their potential for use in tissue repair and molecular medicine., Karyotypic analysis of adult pluripotent stem cells. and Differential potential of adult stem cells.
Can you help me add this section to the adult stem cell page please? 14:27, 6 September 2011 (UTC)Tayamoz
Hi Edgar. Made a page for this new compound 4-methylpregabalin, which is notable mainly for the unexpectedly difficult and hugely expensive research that was required, to finally produce after many years of effort a marginally improved version of pregabalin, with only 2 years left before the pregabalin patent expires. Anyway only one isomer is active, the (3R,4R) isomer and I got slightly confused drawing it (always found that R/S naming difficult when the stereocentres are right next to each other). Please could you quickly check to make sure its correct? To be safe I uploaded a new version to Commons which I just drew in the exact same conformation the authors used, as I assume they will know the correct one. But I prefer to draw it slightly differently from the literature reference where possible just so there can be no accusations of copyright infringement... Also the replacement version I put up doesn't seem to be displaying yet, but I think I just have to wait for the Commons server to refresh or something. Hi, I've skimmed WP:CRD and WP:REVDEL, but there doesn't seem to be any centralized place to nominate items for redaction. (If that's indeed the case, how/where could one be proposed?) I created Maggie's Hope that was deleted by Wikipedia for a violation. I would like the opportunity to explain that Maggie's Hope is not a commercial business but a 501c3 non-profit that funds autism treatment for kids. As autism treatment evolves you will find that research being done at Maggie's Hope will greatly enhance your reader's knowledge on the subject. Wikipedia is a very inclusive site and I am requesting to be included as well.

Hi Edgar,
Thank you for the comment. I am pleased to meet you.
Would you please clarify the amount of tolerable inline links that can be included in an article? There seem to be no guidelines.
The style guide works great for intellectual topics. It reads very much like style guides used by universities for masters and PhD level dissertation work. I can see how that will work well in areas covering intellectual content, like theory and practice where traceability to credible sources is a paramount concern.
Most people that work with chemicals do not have a college education. The style guide format is intimidating and confusing in that venue. The method described in the style guide tends to interfere with discussing basic safety, health, supervision, and regulatory requirements.
A very disturbing feeling overwhelmed me when I looked up cyanide in Wikipedia several years ago and failed to see any regulatory, health, and safety information. Basic safety is the first things I learned about chemistry (cyanide, ammonia, fuming nitric, hydrofluoric acid, lye, ... and butyric acid).
Wikipedia appears to be silent about basic health, safety, and regulations. That guarantees injury. Using the style guide for discussions about safety/supervision might not reduce that risk.
I value your opinion. Best regards.Nanoatzin (talk) 07:12, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

Seeing your justified block of Asdfasdfagfhjkl brought to mind a question that I've posted at WP:AN in the "Templates in block logs" section; I'd appreciate your input to help understand the uses of a specific MediaWiki feature. Hi Edgar. I noticed you added a CAS number to the page for CX717. Do you know if the structure of this compound has been revealed yet, or did Cortex manage to get a CAS number issued without disclosing the structure? I've seen CAS entries for compounds with no references supplied, but never one with no structure! They have done well keeping it secret for so long, if the late-1990s discovery date is accurate then there is only a few years left until the patent expires... Hi again. I'm dropping a note to ask if you would consider a semi-protect lock on the article for the new Disney Channel series, Jessie. The show premiered this last weekend, and, as is typical with new Disney and Nickelodeon shows, its page is receiving a lot of mischievous and vandalistic edits. The page was locked for one day this weekend, but the editor who locked it didn't want to take on the decision to lock the page for a more extended period of time (discussion on the subject can be viewed on the article's talk page), so I said I'd contact you if the edits persisted. I was hoping you might take a look at the edit history and consider locking for 3 months, but I would even be happy to settle for 1 month - whatever you think is best. This compound itself is known to the literature, it is compound 4a in J Med Chem 2003; 46(11):2110-2116, which ironically is not included among the list of references given. However I would not think it notable at this stage, the CB1 Ki is only 245 nM so it is unlikely to see any abuse as an RC cannabinoid, though it is still a moderately potent CB2 agonist with a Ki of 11nM - ironically with this particular series the SAR trend is reversed and the 2-methyl derivative 4b is the stronger at CB1 with a Ki of 8nM, vs 29nM at CB2. Anyway though, there are a couple of review articles that mention this series of compounds and if they had code numbers assigned I'd think they were notable enough for a brief mention, but the code Ur-12 appears entirely invented and most likely is a marketing ploy from some RC vendor who clearly didn't read the reference closely enough! There has been a bit of this recently, I saw an information request the other day about 1-pentyl-3-(tetramethylcyclopropylmethanoyl)indole which is compound 46 from J Med Chem 2010; 53: 295-315, and again thought this was an odd choice to ask about because the CB1 Ki is only 150nM and there are several more potent agonists in the same paper. I suspect now that compounds like JWH-018 and JWH-250 have been banned in most countries, vendors are grasping at straws trying to find the next legal RC cannabinoid to sell, and lots of people are trawling through scientific literature they don't really understand, looking for ideas... Why did you replace 2 cite pmid? They worked well. 70.137.128.180 (talk) 14:35, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
I left cite journal only for the reference that is not indexed in pubmed, and therefore has no pmid. I could use a cite doi for that. In the end they anyway resolve as cite journal in the transcluded template, but with the advantage of centralized and shared maintenance. In fact some of the cite pmid resolve to a redirect to "cite doi" etc. but this also includes sharing. Insofar consistency does not play such a role, if you want to edit the related cite journal, you just click on the "edit" at the reference, that is very practical, then your edit improves all shared uses of this ref. e.g. if you add url for free fulltext you need to to that only once for all articles. 70.137.128.180 (talk) 15:04, 5 November 2011 (UTC)

Hi there. You've helped me out before with semi-protect locks on some of the young Disney/Nickelodeon stars' pages and I'm back to ask for help again. The last time I posted here (about another page) I mentioned one of the new young Disney stars named Cameron Boyce whose page was attracting a lot of 10-year-olds with a newfound hankering to edit his page. I already knew that the page needed protection last month, but I thought I'd give it another month before I asked for a lock. The edits are not all technically "vandalism", but not a single one of them has been constructive either. His page has had almost 100 edits in less than a month (seen here), but I can spare you the trouble of viewing the history and tell you right now that the only changes kept since last month are an expired reflink fix I made and a bot edit linking to his Polish Wikipedia page. Like I think I mentioned last time - a lot of it doesn't technically fit the criteria for "vandalism", but it's more like 10-year-olds declaring their undying "love" for him, or naming themselves as his new "girlfriend", or repeating info already stated within the article, or removing sourced info they don't "like", or constantly changing his date of birth (which seems to be the favorite "mischief" edit among 10-year-olds), etc, etc. The page is just turning into a time-suck for the "adults" who are watching it, so I was hoping you would consider giving the page a 3 month lock down. From previous experience, I can pretty much guarantee that any constructive edits that happen on a 12-year-old Disney star's bio page are ones from confirmed users anyway, so I don't think we'll be missing out on anything over the next 3 months (except maybe the headache of constantly having to revert it).--- Crakkerjakk (talk) 10:24, 12 November 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I was asked to put information about the Fjordvarme system on Wikipedia, so I started already doing that. The information is just general information for now. But it was taken away or blocked by you. Can you tell me why? I am not sure what kind of rule I violated. Please advice. Hi Edgar, You removed visibility of an edit that was on this article that I had reverted. The User has since put the edit back on again with a reference (which I reverted again). The user has questioned this on his talkpage User talk:89.101.46.15 I'm not sure whether this is relevant to the article as it is about her husband. Could you possibly take a look for me. Thanks for populating the chembox on evacetrapib. I am not very experienced with the chembox, so this is much appreciated. Could you let me know how you draw chemical structures? I've been using MDL ISIS Draw, but the export function is dodgy and it doesn't do vector images. JFW | T@lk 18:43, 16 November 2011 (UTC) |
Hi Edgar. I think you've erred in semi-protecting that page; the IP was removing what s/he believed to be an unreliable source, and WP:PP is fairly clear that semi-protection shouldn't be used for disputes in this manner. I ask you to reconsider, and instead block the IP and User:Antique Rose, who definitely broke 3RR. Magog the Ogre (talk) 18:31, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
OK; part of the problem, though, is that AR appears to have been socking as well under different IPs (although one can never be sure who's who). This is why I just placed an A-A sanctions warning on his page as well. My reading of the talk page shows that it's by no means a consensus (DGG, for example, seems to think it's not clear-cut). But you are right, I'd missed that it was IP hopping when I first messaged you. Regardless, under no pressure from me to come up with a specific decision, I would appreciate if you had the time to close the thread about this at the bottom of WP:AN3. Thanks. Magog the Ogre (talk) 18:59, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
Hello! If anyone suspects me of using sock accounts, I suggest that that user requests a sockpuppet investigation. Best regards, Antique Rose — Drop me a line 19:57, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
Dear Edgar 181! Since the article is blocked for editing (and rightly so), I cannot edit a badly worded sentence (first sentence of the second paragraph of the Personal Life section), right now it is repeating the sentence immediately following it, although with good new references. My proposition is to keep all the sources and citations, but combine and expand the sentence to: Eugenia Tumanishvili and Tamara Toumanova claimed Georgian descent [1][2][3] (also noted by Tamara’s best friend Irina Baronova [4] and expert biographers [5][6][7]). Some sources also mention Armenian heritage[8][9][10][11][12][13].
Just a friendly reminder, could you remember when you close AfDs, such as this one, to also remove the AfD template from the article and also add an old AfD template to the talk page? You likely just forgot to do so. SilverserenC 23:36, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
I have re-written an article for boomkin, a subject that was deleted some time ago for being nonsensical, etc. I have started from scratch, and believe I have created a credible and referenced piece (I am not the original author). I would like to re-establish the article, and would like a "by your leave" to do so. My version of the article is on my user page, accessible here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:KDS4444/Boomkin. I look forward to hearing from you, and hope this new article meets a higher standard for inclusion. Thank you. KDS4444Talk 11:37, 18 November 2011 (UTC)

I am a pharmacist and pharmacologist (PhD) with past industrial and academic experience and recent direct FDA interaction regarding the drug, sucralfate. Working independently of industry sponsorship I defended FDA market clearance for a formulation of sucralfate which is prepared by controlled reaction of sucralfate with HCl prior to dosing(US Patent 6,391,860). This method forms the paste typically associated with the mechanism of action of sucralfate given orally for treatment of duodenal ulcers. Because the paste is formed before dosing and applied directly to wounds, it meets the FDA definition for a medical device (hydrogel wound dressing) and on this basis 510(k) clearance for oral wounds was granted in 2008.
The link below reflects the most recent official FDA action on this aspect and is clearly relevant to the listing of uses for sucralfate (since other than duodenal ulcer treatment and maintenance this is the only other use that actually has received FDA review and clearance for the US).

I would like to add this information to the article but an not an experienced editor of Wikipedia articles and am not typically active on posting boards. Could discuss with you the best way to ensure the error-free addition of this information to the article including the link to the publically available FDA action document? I will share that I am not wholly unbiased as I am the independent commercial developer of that acid-activated paste.

I have updated the IP's talk page to reflect the new information in WHOIS, and it is registered to a school district now (things change, I guess). You may want to consider changing that to a {{schoolblock}} soft block so that students can create their own accounts. I usually don't notify admins when I find new WHOIS information on blocked users, but this is a special case because it was previously marked as a public terminal, which probably caused you to block with account creation disabled. Regarding the deletion of the ENTIRE page on IPI-145 - it is my understanding that if the person writing the page is the author, co-author, creator, or owner of a copyrighted article, said article could be used, verbatim if referenced. You deleted a page that I wrote, using previous articles I have authored, including the copy on the company site. You even deleted quoted text from clinicaltrials.gov and left a blank page? What kind of scientist are you? Do you work for Genentech or Pfizer??? I plan to re-write the page as well as one on IPI-504 and update the other existing data with new clincial findings for other brands therein. Please keep your hands to yourself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ScotHibb (talk • contribs) 00:27, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
As far as the "keep you hands off" comment, there was a LOT of data on the IPI-145 site that I wrote that was NOT pick-up or in any-way copyrighted material, yet you deleted the entire page...you didn't even leave the title and the intro I wrote. Half of what I wrote I only referenced because there are too many Wiki-Nazis out there who delete a whole section because they couldn't find a reference for it. I bet my grant that you will delete what I write next out of spite and find some loophole to rationalize why you deleted it. I have been writing and editing for many years on wikis and find that there are TOO many people out there that pride themselves on their "total pages deleted" stats. Time will tell if you are one of them, for now I can just TRY to write an objective page without using the same 2 words in the same sentence that some other site somewhere in the universe used, and review the "donate my copyrighted material" form. Which, by the way, information on ClinicalTrials.gov and press releases are NOT copyrighted material. Only a SMALL fraction of the page I wrote on IPI-145 was referenced to the corporate site (the part I will now look into "donating"... — Preceding unsigned comment added by ScotHibb (talk • contribs) 23:37, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi there. I've contacted you before about protecting some young Disney and Nickelodeon star's bio pages and I'm back to ask about another article. The Leo Howard article has been gaining attention over the last few days. I'm not exactly sure why there's been a sudden newfound interest in his page - things seemed pretty quiet until a few days ago - but I'm just guessing his Disney show may have begun airing in some new countries and new viewers are just now "discovering" him. The edits are basically 12-year-old girls blanking sections to declare how "hot" or how "cute" he is. I brought the article from a "stub" to a "C-class" article a couple of months ago, and since the holidays are coming up and kids are going to have a lot more free time on their hands, I was wondering if you would consider a lock on his page for a few months until the renewed interest from fangirls has had a chance to die down? Thanks. --- Crakkerjakk (talk) 18:39, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
Hi Edgar,
Unfortunately the structure of coffee furanone is wrong. I do not know how to create and add chemical structures to a ChemBox, so I would appreciate if you would make the correction. The structure is essentially the same as that of 2-methyl THF, however there is a carbonyl at the 3-position in the ring (a synonym is 2-methyltetrahydrofuran-3-one). In other words, this chemical is not a lactone (a cyclic ester) it is a combination of a cyclic ether and a cyclic ketone. Thanks,

Edgar, a while back i asked why you deleted Laura Burhenn, a musician. My band that I lead, "Star FK Radium" has page that has been up for 4 months. The "unreviewed article block" was shortly taken off I presume by an administrator. i carefully read notability guidelines for bands (after your advice on understanding notabiilty) and waited for 3 and a half years before asking a music journalist to create a page because (1) we release our own material and (b) because our biggest notability is that Bastian Kullenberg of Crazewire, a German music magazine (along with 29 other international music journailists) interviewed or reviewed Star FK Radium and published it on his music blog. What specifically is relevant is that Bastian Kullenberg also interviewed "Drive by Truckers" a very well known and established band. My feeling is he would not have interviewed Star FK Radium unless he believes us to be noteworthy. The source for Bastian Kullenberg's blog is on our Wiki page under Buzzpop. Would you be willing to review our page that is "under consideration for deletion" and I respect any decision you make. Edgar,
I saw your post here about the mistaken bot templates, but this user and numerous others have actually been brought up at ANI and are apparently socks of User:Crouch, Swale, a banned user. I don't really know what all they were editing, but I did revert your edit and they've been blocked. Calabe1992 16:41, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi Edgar, you've been recommended to me by Smartse as a go-to guy for converting chemical structure pngs to SVGs. I'm working on Psilocybin and would like to get all aspects of the article up to snuff before I take it to FAC. Might you be able to convert File:Psilocybin biosynthesis.png for me? Also, I would greatly appreciate it if you might have any time or inclination to review the chemical aspects of the article and point out any errors or inaccuracies that you see. I'm particularly worried about the contents of the Chembox: I don't have any experience with preparing chemical articles for FAC, and am unsure how much of the minutiae needs to be listed. For example, is it necessary to include stuff like acidity, basicity, or log P? None of these parameters are mentioned in the article itself, and are therefore not cited. Thanks, Sasata (talk) 16:17, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
Hi again Edgar. The "reward" for a job well done is often being asked to do another job. So here I am: would you be willing to create another SVG chem diagram for me? Specifically, I'd like to essentially replicate the psilocybin metabolism diagram as shown on page 12 of this document, but with the following amendments: no hyphens between "Hydroxy-indole"; spelling 4-Hydroxyltryptophole -> 4-Hydroxyltryptophol and O-glucoronide->O-glucuronide; anything else I may be missing? Thanks for sharing your expertise (and correcting my mescaline-indole blunder!) Sasata (talk) 05:54, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
Edgar, do you how to fix the red error mark after the CAS number in the chembox? It seems the outgoing link does not work properly even though the registry number appears to be correct and this error is preventing the verification that would remove the red x at the bottom of the box (I think). Sasata (talk) 21:23, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
I see that you adjusted the picture of Proanthocyanidin A2 but it still needs adjusting. The bond linking the B and C ring of the top base unit should be dashed to show the proper conformation. Here is a picture I uploaded to show the discrepancy. Thank you.

Re: This block....the IP user has been waiting a day or more to make these disruptive edits again and has been doing it for a while now. Is it possible to block the IP for a week? After all, if blocks are preventative, blocking for 24 hours is not likely to prevent the IP from vandalizing considering the history. Lhb1239 (talk) 16:58, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
