Hi, Dank. I'm just posting to let you know that List of plant family names with etymologies – a list that you have been heavily involved with – has been chosen to appear on the Main Page as Today's featured list for February 25. The TFL blurb can be seen here. If you have any thoughts on the selection, please post them on my talk page or at TFL talk. Regards, Giants2008 (Talk) 22:32, 7 February 2022 (UTC)

I think someone left their socks lying around over at User talk:Tamzin/340/112/16: An RfA debrief. Are they an LTA account? theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (she/they) 20:18, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for the lovely blurb for the Claudia character! - I went to a great concert last Friday, and took a pic of the happy conductor, with some good luck (further down on the page, with preview and review). --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:01, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
Ten years ago, you were found precious. That's what you are, always. - look for Stardust on my talk today ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:10, 27 August 2022 (UTC)

Because someone who's been around as long as you and done as much good work as you have, probably doesn't have enough barnstars. Andre🚐 16:20, 2 September 2022 (UTC) |

Hi there,
Could you do a source review for the 94th Academy Awards regarding its featured list promotion? I would appreciate the feedback.
Hi Dank, thanks for your help editing the TFA blurb for Amador Valley High School at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Today%27s_featured_article/October_20,_2022.
I do have one requested correction. Could you help update the blub to say that the school received 2nd in Robosub in 2022 (instead of 2021)? This is the source (also in the article): https://www.navy.mil/Press-Office/News-Stories/Article/3123762/25th-annual-robosub-competition-showcases-an-autonomous-future/
I don't seem to be able to edit the blurb myself anymore. Deltawk (talk) 01:26, 19 October 2022 (UTC)

Thank you for the new list made while I was on vacation. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:45, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
Congratulations, with thanks for a long history of expanding the access to knowledge. I also like to share vacation pics again. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:52, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
Please see WP:ROLLBACK: Use of standard rollback for any other purposes – such as reverting good-faith changes which you happen to disagree with – is likely to be considered misuse of the tool.
I'd like an explanation for this. --BorgQueen (talk) 19:38, 22 November 2022 (UTC)

Hi, Dan. I think you do amazing work, and your commitment to these lists is wonderful. I know my comments on reviews often leave out the positive strokes. I realize that after the fact because I get so involved in the non-human part that I forget the person behind the scenes. I really apologize for that. You deserve all good things. Thank you for asking me to take a look. If you would be interested in me editing previous lists to make multiple images in each cell line up and be the same height as I did on the commelinids one, I'd be happy to in my spare time. I don't want to barge in anymore than I already have, though. For what it's worth, I have a hard time focusing on a smaller part of a review for FA and FL than a whole review for GA, which is why my comments tend to go all over the place, be overwhelming, and overdo it. Nothing I said was meant to cause defensiveness, if that matters, and tone is so difficult to express in writing. (Knowing shortcomings doesn't necessarily keeping one from having them.) Peace. – Elizabeth (Eewilson) (tag or ping me) (talk) 19:30, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
@Eewilson: Thanks, and thanks for the support. You're very welcome to review my FLC lists any time, and very welcome to make whatever edits you want to make to the lists after they emerge (successfully or unsuccessfully) from FLC (and it's very unlikely that I'll revert your or anyone else's edits at that point; I might do some minor copyediting). I'm going to avoid the temptation to diagnose the problems that FLC is having these days, I've seen enough diagnosing in my 15 years here to know that it never works, so I'll just bottom-line it: I'm not going to add any images to future lists (apart from one or two in the intro), and if someone else adds images before FLC, I won't nominate the list. If people add images after the list is promoted and they can successfully defend their choices, great. But ever since the addition of a requirement for image reviews, it's been hard, and in some cases impossible, to find image reviewers. (Of course, there's no shame in this or any other pervasive problems at FLC ... some problems just aren't immediately fixable, despite heroic efforts. Some day, we'll get it right.) - Dank (push to talk) 14:29, 9 December 2022 (UTC)

Dan, we sang Charpentier's delightful Messe de minuit pour Noël yesterday, which was on DYK the day before, - a first for me. Today, pictured: the soprano of our choral concert of the year.
