So to speak. One of the tasks I do least well over at Portal:American Civil War is create DYKs (as it turns out, I'm using some of yours clipped straight out of main page DYK). I'm sure, based on your experience, you could whip 20 out in a few hours. That's not what I'm asking. Because of your success in this arena, I was wondering how you went about identifying possible DYKs, and how you processed the items. Do you mind sharing something of your secret, and share something of your process? Any consideration is appreciated. BusterD (talk) 22:41, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Hi. Perhaps you'd also be interested in First Baptist Church (Columbia, South Carolina), an article just started, about site where the South Carolina voted to secede from the Union. HABS photos available; documents linked to stub article. I noticed you did a good job developing the Burt-Stark Mansion article; thought you might be interested in this, too, as another bookend to the war, across 5 aprils in South carolina. The person probably deleted Brown Bess because it seems extraordinarily unlikely that a Union soldier at Shiloh was carrying such an antiquated arm. I'm not aware of any regiment using them. Nevertheless there is a citation claiming that it was such an arm. Without identifying the regiment that fired the shot and tracing what weapons they had, I wouldn't believe the identification is correct. Red Harvest (talk) 05:00, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Jahnx. Hope you don't mind I copy this onto my talk page. That's where Barnstars are normally placed for others first.--Bedford 17:30, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Can I invite you to particpate in our new assessment drive? It's strictly for experienced wiki-gnomes and has a degree of friendly competition built-in. It involves re-evaluating around 3500 Milhist B-Class articles to ensure they match our new criteria. As ever, we're offering a range of awards as our way of expressing our thanks. The drive doesn't start until 18:00 (UTC) on March 10 but you can sign up in advance here. It would be great if you can spare the time, --ROGER DAVIES talk 05:33, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi, you have just removed {{WPBiography}} from Talk:Four Year Strong. That is wrong: {{WPBiography|musician-work-group=yes}} includes musical groups as you can see in the displayed template where it says: "This article is supported by WikiProject Musicians, an attempt to build a comprehensive and detailed biographical guide to musicians and musical groups on Wikipedia. I am not sure if you are an admin or can tell me a good one to go to. I am having difficulty with a random user whose edits of not only the Sean Hannity page but the polarization (politcal) aritcle are dubious at best. If you have any advice on how to combat the POV/weasaling that this person seems guilty of, it would be greatly appreciated. If not, I would greatly appreciate a link to a possible admin that you think would be able to help in this matter. Thanks for your time Rocdahut (talk) 06:48, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
