After some months working mostly on Wiki Loves Monuments I've returned to some Somerset buildings on wp & looked again at Wells Cathedral. I really do think after all your work it is close to FA standard. I've put it up for a peer review to get another perspective, but wondered if you had any ideas about further work needed? I stumbled across a copy of the image on this page in a book and wondered if it might be worth including but you did some much on the images I don't want to change anything without getting your thoughts first.— Rod talk 21:15, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
There are a further set of useful comments from User:Dr. Blofeld on Talk:Wells Cathedral#Some further comments. I've dealt with some (minor overlinking) etc but wanted your advice about some of the architecture and image comments, before going any further. If you had time to look at them that would be great.— Rod talk 11:10, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
Unfortunately, it appears that another editor modified my new cathedral image at Wikimedia Commons, before you saw what I did. Please see here.Anythingyouwant (talk) 05:36, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
On 24 November 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article All Saints Church, Odiham, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the upper parts of the Medieval tower of All Saints Church, Odiham (pictured), were completely rebuilt in the 17th century? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/All Saints Church, Odiham. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
Thank you for the kind words. It might be a bit much to include 2 examples by Furness in such a broad topic, but toward the end of the 19th century he was designing some of the most visually complex windows (and buildings) in the United States. I look forward to the article filling up with many more images. Best wishes. == BoringHistoryGuy (talk) 03:49, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
Hi. I am quite confused, you left a message for me here on a talk page of a picture? This is again quite confusing as not only is it on the talk page of a picture, but it is also addresses me as being a 'new editor'! I have been away from Wikipedia for a long time, as my talk page says 'semi-retired' but every now and again I come back, especially when I'm bored! I have been editing on here since 2009, so I wouldn't consider myself 'new'! :) Regards ☠ Jaguar ☠ 17:50, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
@ Amandajm, I won't dignify your attack on Eric Corbett with a defense or list of his Wikipedia achievements, but I will point out that if editing a page which is being edited by many others in the same period, it's always a good idea to save frequently. You do seem to be now rather scraping the empty barrel to justify your own behavior - which was not impressive. No one doubts your devotion to the project and history; your awareness of ancient buildings is wide. However, your comprehension of architecture is naive and your pronouncements on the subject seem to be gleaned from long out-of-date architectural theories and essays. Your prose has a tendency to be verbose and outdated. Enthusiastic amateurs are to be encouraged, but not if it's at the expense of others, and I strongly feel that you have ridden roughshod of the work and views of others. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but I think it needed to be said. Apologies to Rod for using your page like this. Giano 09:58, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi, Thanks for your work on the pictures on Brislington House. It was a wet and overcast day, but it was the day I'd arranged with the manager to get access to take some photos - it is all behind locked gates so you can't just wander in. On Bishop's Palace, Wells it can't go for DYK as it is not new or expanded 5x. Maybe I'll think about GA for it one day.— Rod talk 16:58, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on File:Reba Schappell in concert.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to List of regional characteristics of Romanesque churches may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Claude Monet, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Corot (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

...but I think it is in VERY bad form to use that sort of rhetoric in an edit summary, whatever the circumstances may be. DaL33T (talk) 12:44, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
Please do not attack other editors, as you did on User talk:Pass a Method. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. DaL33T (talk) 13:06, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
