I recently posted the following text on this sexy page regarding the creation of a new computing-related project in Wikipedia:
'WikiProject Java is a Wikipedian community that aims to better organize information in articles related to the Java programming language and its platform.
- If I'm cor-rec-to, there are about 900 articles on Java technology in Wikipedia, which may be more than ALL other programming languages articles combined...
- At least, it's more than for C++, and there IS a C++ WikiProject...
- And it's MUCH more than the .NET WikiProject with 82 articles...
- There is also a Python project and a Ruby project so...
- Now you can also see a proposal for the Java Portal (temp location).'
Please support this initiative, --Alainr345 (talk) 03:55, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
You could have a wonderful future as a beat poet. :) --Cybercobra (talk) 07:25, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

Kind Regards, and all the best and your ventures, it looks like you will have a lot of fun with it!!!
Hi. Image:Java logo.jpg (claimed public domain) was listed here at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files. Since it is superfluous to Image:Java logo.svg, its only use was in the WikiProject Java templates that you created. So that they would not be left blank, I replaced them with Image:Wave.svg. I hope this isn't too annoying. Unfortunately, Wikipedia's current fair use policy would not cover the use of a copyrighted logo outside articles anyway, but Duke isn't too bad. • Anakin (talk) 16:00, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
Hi AR!! Need some clarification what exactly to be done on Did you know Did_you_know subpage page. If you could help me to give some hint to complete the task will be appreciated. It will be my pleasure to work with you on this project. KuwarOnline (talk) 17:33, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi Alain, just wanted know about uncategorized article. I saw some of the article which i marked as good candidate its been re-tagged to bad candidate, In some cases its fine but with some exception like Serialization,Reflection (computer science), Application programming interface and so on....its all used in java. This is general term and we achieve this things in Java to solve certain issue/problem while developing softwares/application. So my opinion to re-tag them back to good candidate. So just wanted know about ur opinion. KuwarOnline (talk) 07:25, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
Hope this helps clarify things a bit, --AlainR345Techno-Wiki-Geek 17:14, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
Hi Alain I have linked biography3,4 and 5 please verify and let me know if anything more can be done on these biography. KuwarOnline (talk) 18:40, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
I thought the user was a member of the project. Sorry for the misunderstanding. However, the issue is simple. Two users including yourself objected the assessments from the articles, both which were categorized under Category:Articles with example Java code. I already asked if the WikiProject Java wanted the articles in that category, but I did not receive back a thorough reply. If the articles in that category should not be assessed under WP Java, I can easily remove the assessments. I still await consensus on that. ZooFari 03:08, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
Eh, don't worry about it. The editor wasn't rude or anything, his position just didn't seem to jive at all with my (from what I can tell, correct) understanding of the WikiProject system. --Cybercobra (talk) 03:30, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
What the heck is this? Perhaps not a good idea to put something like that in a WP recruitment note? I was the second supporter for the Java WikiProject. I've unfortunately not been able to put in the time I'd planned on the project just yet but once this is resolved I'll be able to get to work on some of this stuff. --Tothwolf (talk) 01:30, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

I moved this interesting discussion here where it belongs.
Hi Alain,
You invited me to join. While I was quite active in the Java pages several years ago (did some fairly significant clean ups, reorgs and new content development), I'm no longer active on Wikipedia. Occassionally I still contribute to the poker probability articles that are mostly my work, but other than that I don't have the time. I wish you well.
(Since the comment you left on my talk page is more than two months old, I moved the conversation here.)

I appreciate your attempts at finding a free license equivalent for File:Java logo.svg. However, the source page that you reference does not contain any verbiage to the effect that this file has been released under Creative Commons 3.0, nor do the subsequent pop-up windows when you click on an image. It does contain terms of use, which do not reference Creative Commons.
As such, I've tagging the image as missing evidence of permission, making it subject to deletion in seven days. This is to give you an opportunity to find the appropriate release statement from Sun that this is in fact available under Creative Commons. --Hammersoft (talk) 21:02, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Hello Alainr345. I've removed this comment for two reasons. Firstly, that area is for comments made before the case opened. Secondly, you deliberately doctored the date on the time stamp to read as if it was made before the case opened, when in fact it was made today. The second point is slightly more serious and I urge you not to deliberately attempt to deceive like you did then. If you have any comments to make, please direct them to the proposed decision talk page. Regards, Ryan PostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or let's have banter 11:37, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
per WP:Sig, i think your sig is too big and conspicuous. although it's not up to me, since i'm not an admin, i wonder if you could make it the same size as everyone else's? that way it won't take up as much space. you are free to use your sig however you want on your own talk page, of course. i am talking about on other pages. I recently posted the following text on this unsexy page regarding the creation of a new Visual Arts/Technology-related project in Wikipedia:
WikiProject Industrial design is a Wikipedian community that aims to better organize information in articles related to Industrial design (also called Product design). Right now, this topic is not well covered, being squeezed in between its Visual Arts and its Technology roots.

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 20:28, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
--Jazzeur (talk) 04:12, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Weblogic, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted by ClueBot. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you believe there has been a mistake and would like to report a false positive, please report it here and then remove this warning from your talk page. Hi. I just want to say that is not that dificult to fin the proper project, you just have to go to the basics, in this case i think the proper project you are looking for is Wikipedia:WikiProject Arts, or perhaps some of its sub-projects. I hope it helps if not, don`t hesitate to ask for help. Zidane tribal (talk) 21:29, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
I assessed the article. The quality assessment should be the same for every project (WP:1.0/A says: "Unlike the quality scale, the priority scale varies based on the project scope.") You can request reassessment if you think the rating should be better. Normally you can assess articles to which you are not the main contributor with no problem, simply stick to WP:1.0/A. And be patient when waiting for reactions, this is all volunteer and never fast :) Best wishes Hekerui (talk) 20:54, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading File:Dukesource125.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Hi, Jimbo Wales. Recently seeing this comment (again): ' Typically, Google search results are better ' about Wikipedia's Search page (and its 'cancer' outgrowth, the aptly named CatScan tool) made me think that reading it over and over in different places means that people consider this a fact of life; which seems to me strange, since after all the whole of Wikimedia sites have a very specific structure and meta-content that is not taken into account by Google at all (I guess); Wikimedia must have a 50m headstart there, not taking into account the more frequent indexing (I guess), nevertheless.... I've mentioned this pet concern of mine in other places without much reaction from Wikipedians so far and since I've not seen much improvement over time to that sorry state of affairs (I found out has a definite influence on my Wikipedia 'productivity'), I thought this page was my last hope of having a decent search tool on Wikimedia anytime soon. Thanks for your time and many thanks for having founded Wikipedia... --AlainR345Techno-Wiki-Geek 16:41, 20 March 2010 (UTC) (WikiProject Java and Design portal founder)
A tag has been placed on Good design awards, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. It surprised me to see a bot assignment of "low importance" to the article on Eliot Noyes. would seem that Noyes, the designer of the appearance of the iconic IBM Selectric typewriter and the modern look that still persists in Mobil Oil gas stations should receive a higher rating than "low", assigned the article. I would recommend reconsideration. Sincerely, User:HopsonRoad 19:02, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 02:31, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

You are being contacted because you may qualify as an inactive user of AWB. First, if you have any input on the proposed bot task, please feel free to comment at the BRFA. Should the bot task be approved, your access to AWB may be uncontroversially removed if you do not resume editing within a week's time. The article Good Design Award (Chicago Athenaeum) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Don't see any evidence these awards pass WP:GNG. References appear to overwhelmingly be quasi-press-releases.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 20:31, 3 June 2020 (UTC)

However, you seem to edit sporadically (once every two years approximately, including this year) and edit another Wikipedia on a more regular basis. Therefore, I am removing you from the list. It’s great to see you’re still here, even if I don’t get a response until 2022! Happy editing Lima Bean Farmer (talk) 15:29, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
An article you recently created, Jacques Raymond (accountant), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. It is not clear that the video is an independent source. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hello, Alainr345!
Having an article declined at Articles for Creation can be disappointing. If you are wondering why your article submission was declined, please post a question at the Articles for creation help desk. If you have any other questions about your editing experience, we'd love to help you at the Teahouse, a friendly space on Wikipedia where experienced editors lend a hand to help new editors like yourself! See you there! Jenyire2 20:07, 25 February 2021 (UTC) |

Hello, Alainr345. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Jacques Raymond".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 20:09, 25 August 2021 (UTC)

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}
