The Israelites or citizens of mozaic confesion (in german: Israeliten, Deutschen mosaischen Konfession; hungarian: Izraeliták, Mózes-hitű magyarok) was a denomination for jewish citizens, in many states of Western Europe and Central Europe, in emancipation period, from the 'Low of tolerance until in interwar period. The term was meat to underline their appartenence to the local nations and to limit any Jewish Particularism from the pure religious area of interest. Dafter the Holocaust, the expression has felled gradually in desuetudine, yet the ideology behind her back has almost disappeared.
