The Shenzhen Metro is an urban rail transportation system in the city Shenzhen, Guangzhou, China. Construction was begun in 1999, and service on December 28, 2004. With the opening of the Shenzhen Metro, Shenzhen became greater China's seventh mainland Chinese city to possess a subway system, after Beijing, Hong Kong, Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Taibei. ??? Already in service are lines 1 and 4, with a total 19 stops and 21.866 kilometers of track.
The Shenzhen Metro meets Hong Kong's KCR East Rail at Luohu. The Shenzhen Metro and Hong Kong's KCR East Rail both access Luohu.
Luohu is one of the land-based ports of entry ??? through the border between the Shenzhen special economic zone and the Hong Kong SAR; passengers reach this port by rail, and then [change to the other railway]/[continue by rail]/[change to rail]. Besides this, Line 1 of the Shenzhen Metro also [gives access to]/[accesses]/[reaches]/[goes to] [Shenzhen's famous tourist destination]/[famous Shenzhen tourist destination], the Window of the World, which was the end of Line 1 during the first phase of the Shenzhen Metro's construction.
The Shenzhen Metro's service slogan is "地道服务,贴心一路" ???. Announcements in the cars and on the platform are made consecutively in Standard Mandarin, Standard Cantonese, and English.
