Ali Shaaban , (1980? – 09 April 2012), a Lebanese, was working as a camera operator for the Beirut-based TV station Al-Jadeed in Beirut, Lebanon. He was a local of Lebanon and was was shot by plainclothes Syrian security forces as he and colleagues were reporting from Wadi Khaled, a northern Lebanese town along the Syrian border, Al-Jadeed said.
