I understand you have strong feelings about this matter, but neither a chippy confronting nor a sneaky circumventing the current consensus are the right thing to do after a bold edit was reverted: you could try instead to discuss it on the talk page, and make up your mind that in some cases (and this is likely to be one of those) one has to simply accept the fact that they are not going to get their way, get over it and move on.
