Kessel is a village in the municipality of Goch, situated in the district of Kleve, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It lies approx. 10 km southwest of Kleve, 21 km southeast of Nijmegen, and is very close to the border with the Netherlands. The village is situated on the southern edge of a large tract of forest, the Reichswald, and the small river Niers traverses it.
