Reading and inferential reasoning are luxuries that few of us can afford today. Nonetheless, human beings are inherently curious by nature and are eager to absorb new ideas as long as they do not have to take official tests on these ideas. A free encyclopedia, that offers one a chance to not only digest but also reinterpret and modify complex concepts, seems to be an invaluable resource for people who are eager to know more about the nature of the world they live in. Different people have different learning objectives when they read; some read to improve their minds, still others read to hold their own in a conversation while there are others who read for the pure joy of reading. One significant advantage of Wikipedia is that it potentially caters to all possible readers ranging from the eclectic to the highly exacting. I fall somewhere in between the two.
