To Kill A King is a British folk and rock band currently based in London. The band was formed in 2009 by frontman Ralph Pelleymounter with Ian Dudfield and Josh Platman during their studies at University of Leeds.[1] The band was then called Kid iD, in late 2009 they renamed themselves to "To Kill A King" as John Willoughby and Ben Jackson had also joined the band.[2] The band has been compared to band such as The National, Grizzly Bear, Mumford & Sons and Frightened Rabbit.[3][4] Their first single "Fictional State" is set to be released on the 29 May 2011.[5] A video for the single was made in April 2011 by director Jack King.[6][7]
