The Women's British Open is an annual golf competition held at the end of July start of Augustl. It was established in 1976, which it did not become a major championship until 2001, and one of the four women's major championships played each year that includes the Kraft Nabisco Championship, the LPGA Championship, and the U.S. Women's Open.[1] This event has always been conducted in stroke play competition, and is always the fourth and last women's major of the year.[1]
As a major championship, their has been no repeat winners.[1] The lowest winning score is Karen Stupples's 19-under par 269 aggregate in 2004.[1]
