When used with the "Redirect category shell" (Rcat shell) template:
This page is a redirect. The following categories are used to track and monitor this redirect:
|
- Template {{Redirect category shell}} may be used to add one or more rcat templates, along with their parameters and categories, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation page below.
When used by itself:
- From category navigation: This is a redirect from a category that is used as a navigational aid to the target category, via a category navigation template such as {{Category series navigation}} or similar.
- Please do not remove the tag that generates this text (unless the need to use this category directly has been demonstrated) nor delete this page.
- This template should only be used on categories which have also been soft-redirected via {{Category redirect}}.
This template is used on approximately 2,400 pages and changes may be widely noticed. Test changes in the template's /sandbox or /testcases subpages, or in your own user subpage. Consider discussing changes on the talk page before implementing them. |
Usage
Use this rcat template in category namespace only.
Place this template as the second unnamed parameter in {{Category redirect}}.
{{Category redirect | (target page name) | {{R from category navigation}} }}
- It is not necessary to append
| keep=yes
, because that is switched on by the presence of this template in the second unnamed parameter.
- If {{R from template-generated category}} is also applicable, as on Category:Years of the 19th century in Sri Lanka, do not use a pipe between the two "R from" templates. They should both be included in the second parameter.
See Template:Category series navigation#Work-arounds for creating navigational categories to be used by {{Category series navigation}}.
