This is a documentation subpage for Template:Seal. It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
This template simplifies the inclusion of non-heraldic insignia for various levels of government and other quasi-governmental entities.
It is the cousin of Template:Coat of arms and functions in an identical fashion.
All free emblems, seals, logos and other similar insignia are acceptable for use with this template to the exclusion of heraldic coats of arms. Where there is a doubt, for example Cold-War-Era Eastern European emblems and seals that often incorporated some elements of heraldic design, this template errs on the side of inclusion.
If your entity is not supported by the template, please consider adding it by editing the template. Please follow established organization when editing so users are more easily able to find the proper name for their desired entity as well as to prevent duplication.
