Avril Lavigne is seen as an icon of sincerity, individuality, creativity and female dignity? Ha ha, that's a good one. Bonalaw 11:53, 30 Jun 2004 (UTC)
'Such confusion is a testament to the lack of record label dedication.' Errr, neutrality! This is audible tut-tutting. Do you think her label would agree with your admirably objective encyclopedic interpretation? Nope. So I dispute the neutrality of this comment. It isn't fair. ZephyrAnycon 00:00, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Bizarrely in fact one version of Harmonium is listed on Amazon UK with a release date of January 11, 2001 and another (the 'enhanced' CD) as March 9, 2005. I can't find the June date given in the article. ZephyrAnycon 00:09, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Who exactly is Vanessa Carlton's record label? It's not stated anywhere in the article as far as I could see. 青い(Aoi) 30 June 2005 03:07 (UTC)
She has done her 3rd album just need to get artwork done on it
On AmIAnnoying.com it says she was/is manic depressive? should this be mention somewhere on here?

Maybe the article needs to be cleaned up.100110100 08:15, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
Yo, what in god's name is going on with this article? It's just a mishmash of computer code and text in FRENCH! (nothing against the French, but this is filed under the English Wikipedia directory--click on the 'French' language option on the homepage to see Wiki articles in French) But, heck, even if you are fluent in French this is impossible to read because it's so cluttered with computer language! SOMEBODY FIX IT!!!
Why in the hell is the Vanessa Carlton logo found on her albums on the infobox instead of the standard page font found on other artist pages? I don't really like it. The infobox should have the standard, non image page font. Steven312 02:25, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
We need to add the charts back on! Tcatron565 01:19, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Since WHEN has Vanessa Carlton EVER been a prog rock artist? I'm removing that entry
The claim in the first paragraph that she has a still has a dedicated fanbase is unsupported. In general, artists with fanbases usually see an increase in sales of their catalog right before new CDs are released. I haven't seen that in the record store where I work. Someone with access to national SoundScan data could check this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stoole b (talk • contribs) 19:23, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Image:VanessaCarlton Logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I could be wrong, but I think she once did a halftime show of an NFL Thanksgiving Day game some years back. I think Bon Jovi might have been in the same show. Does anyone know more about this? Maybe it is something we can add to the article? --Rockfang (talk) 07:41, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Why it is stated that Heroes & Thieves has sold just 81.000+ ? According to Nielsen SoundScan the album sold at least 380.000+.
Maybe I'm wrong. I wanted to say that since December this Wikipedia page has been updated with the sales of Heroes & Thieves, and it was stated that according to NS the album sold 380.000+ (it has been a gradual passage), but some days ago someone edited the page and wrote that only 81.000+ copies were sold. My question is: which is the truth? Why nothing changed until some days ago? For five months that information has been constantly updated, and for an unknown reason it has been edited. Where is the font about the 81.000+ copies? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.90.19.48 (talk) 21:00, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
It would be nice to have up to date numbers - and I do think that the 380 000 figure is correct - unfortunately, unreferenced data can be deleted - although it's more polite to put a 'reference needed' tag - so if someone has access to Neilsen Soundscan figures, they would need to provide reference details - i.e. Neilsen Soundscan monthly international db sales figures for June 1st - Vanessa Carlton - Heroes & Thieves - 380 0000 - it would be good to have figures for her first two albums as well.
--Clara Schumann (talk) 23:40, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
So? Where is the official confirmation about the 81.000+? It's pointless to put some numbers if you don't know exactly where to search. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.90.17.193 (talk) 21:24, 10 June 2008 (UTC) (14/06/2008) I still find silly the numbers where no-one knows exactly how many copies Vanessa sold with her album. There aren't up-to-date news, nor link with recent information: delete that fancy numbers if you don't have any proof!
==
I wouldn't say silly, because the numbers do need to be updated - but I did put a request for references tag for those numbers.
--Clara Schumann (talk) 21:05, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
No biggie, but does anyone feel that the infobox photo isn't a very flattering picture? It shouldn't be too hard to find something a little more visually attractive...

About the David Shankbone Tribeca film festival picture
This might be the worst picture of Vanessa ever taken. While this is of course not a fansite, I don't think we should seek out bad pictures of Wiki people and post them as representative of what they look like. I don't see any compelling reason to include this picture. I am not the one who has been removing it, btw, but I was taken aback the first time I saw it. Jiminy64 (talk) 05:02, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
I don't think it's that bad - but I think that there are some better photos from the Tribeca event -
http://www.gettyimages.com/Search/Search.aspx?contractUrl=1&language=en-US&family=editorial&p=vanessa%20carlton&src=standard#1
The thing is that that picture is free usage with the proper documentation - we could ask the user who uploaded it for a better one, but I think he's no longer active on Wikipedia due to various problems encountered here. --Clara Schumann (talk) 21:10, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
I happened across the infobox image while on Commons, and didn't care for the unnatural colouring. So, I tried to give it a more natural appearance. See the image to the right. Unless someone has an objection, I'd like to replace the current infobox image with this one. Or, if anyone can suggest further colouring fixes, I can try to work them in. Cheers. — Huntster (t @ c) 07:20, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
Wasn't Vanessa on Punk'd? I remember watching the episode where Ashton Kutcher punk'd her by giving her a sucky band right before she was supposed to go on Jay Leno! Maybe we could add that on the page! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.91.79.252 (talk) 18:31, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
She is in the category of Bisexual musicians and LGBT musicians.. do we have a source for this? --Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 01:03, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
Removed the following content: "She recently came out as bisexual at a pride celebration (http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-31749_162-20008305-10391698.html)" Needs to be placed elsewhere (not under "Childhood and youth") and cited correctly. --Limxzero (talk) 06:51, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

"choosing to record at Real World Studios London" -- that's not in the given citation. Furthermore, RWS is, as far as I (and the wikipedia article) know, in Wiltshire. If "London" is being used as a metonym for "somewhere in the UK", it's not a great use. 84.203.34.252 (talk) 03:50, 11 November 2011 (UTC)

Unable to verify whether has one or two children. The current Wikipedia entry suggests there are two children, but from other websites it would seem that there is only one child. And yet it is unclear. Weavecomeforknowledge (talk) 22:34, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
