The link to the Teletubbies episode list at EOFFTV has changed and is now at http://www.eofftv.com/eofftv/index.php/Teletubbies_(1997-2001). I don't seem to be able to fix this as the page is semi-protected so could someone with suitable permissions take a look at this? Many thanks!
These articles on each character are so short I don't believe it is worth them having their own article. Most of the articles are also missing information that is found on the main page, or the stuff on there is just a repeat of what is said here. It would be much more concise and productive to move these articles into this one. 82.37.50.162 (talk) 00:07, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
Since filming ended, the fixtures and fittings have been removed from the set, and it appears to have been flooded to form a pond (two fields South of the farmhouse, which is where the postcode points to on the online maps). The paved (gravel?) track leading to the former set still exists, so is the only extant reminder. Until recently, the MS Live Maps view showed the site "in action" - complete with numerous articulated trucks parked at the end of the track. Their image has now been updated as well, but a copy has been preserved at this fansite. A couple of lines explaining the afterlife of the set might be a useful addition to the main article... Meanwhile (FYI - not necessarily for the main article), the farm have found a new way to supplement their income - an aquatics centre (fish and pondplant sales).
Interestingly, I read a rumour somewhere that the set of "In The Night Garden" might be the woodland two fields west of the old Teletubbies set - however, that would evidently need reliable citations before being plonked in that article.Mittfh (talk) 10:51, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Is this verifiable ? My own daughter is called Jessica Smith, and was about the right age at the right time, and looked almost identical to the Sun Baby. My older son, was convinced it was her for many years. I know it wasn't her but so many people commented on the likeness that maybe it's grown into a myth

"
A Pop-Up Shop opened in New York City's West Village from 28 March to 7 April 2007.[14] The opening night party was DJ'ed by MisShapes. A percentage of the store's profits went to the Cure Autism Now and Autism Speaks charities. DJs from all different genres of music (electronica, funk, Brazilian jazz, old school hip hop, alternative rock and house music) played in the store in the evenings. Some evenings included DJ scratching lessons and record spin art. On 6 April 2007, the store held a 12-hour Teletubbies viewing marathon."

Well done to whoever wrote about the homosexual side of one of the teletubbies. I remember reading many articles about the homosexual teletubbie and even in my psychology university lecture we had a whole assignment on Childrens TV and homosexual characters. Infact the purple coloured icons in Teletubbies, Hoobs etc. are all homosexual in personality who show no preference for the girl character. For our assignment we used many journals and studies as citations which can be used here. For the author of the homosexual section, use JSTOR and other Athens networks for excellent sources that mention teletubbies and childrens tv as a whole in a sexual angle. --93.97.181.187 (talk) 20:29, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
The article is tagged as needing plenty of work but it is edit-protected. How is anyone supposed to improve it then? I don't know, 2.7 million articles in Wiki and people would choose this one to vandalise. Humph! SmokeyTheCat •TALK• 13:49, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

==Closing sequence== Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck In the closing sequence the first Teletubby that jumps up from hiding behind a mound is almost always the same one that pops up at the last minute for the hole to wave bye-bye.
An exception TO THIS FREAKIN THANG is in the episode Ned's Bicycle which features the marching animals sequence and playing with a flag. Here Tinky Winky jumps up and Po pops up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.93.164.23 (talk) 12:10, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

In Doctor Who, The Master directly reflects while watching an episode of the Teletubbies, thinking they were an group of aliens living on Earth. He commented on the fact the rectangles on their stomachs can act like televisions, "This planet's amazing. Television on their stomachs.". The Master commented on other children's shows in the classic Doctor Who series, such as The Clangers in the Jon Pertwee episode The Sea Devils. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.93.164.23 (talk) 06:54, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

The Living Roof of the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco appears to have a Teletubby Land design to it (it was mentioned in a News thing, but I can't remember where it was from). If they had meant to reference this series, we should add it to the popular culture section. trainfan01 8:05, August 10, 2010 (UTC)
Would it be better to put things such as "Tinky Winky controversy", "Teletubby doll incidents" and "Supposed Pagan agenda" under a section titled "Controversies"? The current "Reception" title is a little too vague compared to the content. Xtremerandomness (talk) 12:11, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Why are there coordinates for the article? Chris the Paleontologist (talk | contribs) 18:35, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
In the paragraph "Tinky Winky controversy" you can currently find the following two sentences that unfortunately are contextually homophobic:
But on 30 May 2007, Sowińska said in a public statement that she no longer suspected the Teletubbies of promoting homosexuality. She said: "The opinion of a leading sexologist, who maintains that this series has no negative effects on a child's psychology, is perfectly credible.
The two sentences -as they are stringed together now - imply strongly that "promoting homosexuality" has or may have "negative effects on a child's psychology". If wikipedia wants to be part of the world cultural heritage (and even if not) such prejudical text passages should be avoided.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.203.244.30 (talk • contribs) 7 April 2012
The sentences are contextually homophobic because Sowińska perceived "promoting homosexuality" as a "negative effect". This has nothing to do with Wikipedia's views or those of this article's author. She suspected the Teletubbies of promoting sexuality, and has been quoted as using the term "negative effect". This is fact. Should any fact pertaining to homophobic beliefs be purged from Wikipedia so that you're not triggered? 150.135.48.223 (talk) 02:03, 30 March 2017 (UTC)

The sources all say that the show ended in 2001, not 2002. It's also what's said on the other Wikipedias.

I don't find "Noo-Noo (prononced Nuu-Nuu)" very helpful as a pronunciation guide. 86.129.17.75 (talk) 13:42, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
Also, some parts of the article actually spell it "Nuu-Nuu", whereas the BBC website, as far as I can tell, spells it only "Noo-Noo" or "Noo Noo" (they don't seem to be very sure about the hyphen). 86.129.17.75 (talk) 13:59, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
I can't make edits myself but I am a huge family guy fan and can't let this mistake go unchanged. Lois turned on the Teletubbies for Stewie because he was reading "grown-up books", including Machiavelli's The Prince and The Art of War by Sun Tsu. It was not because he was looking at photo albums. The episode is "A Hero Sits Next Door".

After doing a "Find" on this page and searched for 'sex', I found that there are 11 occurrences in the current version, spread through the article. This is my first read of this page, but it seems in my opinion, like a subtle form of vandalism, leaving enough actual informative info to seem legit. Sure, such controversy warrants mention here, but for a -children's show!- it seems that you can't go more than a paragraph or two without reading about it. Looking through the history, it seems to have increased over the years and perhaps gotten a bit out of hand.
I'm not referring to any specific sentence, just the overall direction of it. Whether someone views it as homophobic or pro-gay is not my point, I think that it could be trimmed down to a reasonable amount; anyone agree? If all of that could be condensed into *one* sub-section entitled "Controversy ___ [whatever]", with a reference to that within the Overview or wherever appropriate, it would be much more of encyclopedic quality. IMO. --Trep26 (talk) 01:00, 8 September 2012 (UTC)

Shouldn't the lion and bear sketch be mentioned in the reception section? Afterall, it was one of the reasons why this show was so controversial. Also, an edited sketch was made due to complaints from parents. 86.159.74.185 (talk) 11:13, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
Shortly after the original Teletubbies series ended in 2001, a spin-off of sorts began airing known as "Teletubbies Everywhere" sometime around 2002. It was a 10-minute program with 52 episodes which had the four Teletubbies placed in front of solid-colored backgrounds in which interactive, educational segments occurred. Following each episode of "Teletubbies Everywhere" were segments from the original 1997-2001 series. Anyone else remember this? I wish it was on here — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zagurzem (talk • contribs) 05:49, 25 June 2015 (UTC)

The article has the uncited sentence, "a mythological alien species known as "Teletubbies,"". I propose removing the word "alien" because that's dubious. It's not clear (or important) whether they are from earth or not. (But for what it's worth, I always thought they lived on earth and it never occured to me that they might be aliens).
