"Pronuced Shun-Skee" is either incorrect or misleading. A reader can easily see it as being pronounced "Shun-ski", which is wrong. It's more like shun-ské. In any case, I don't see pronunciation guides for other footballers or Japanese personalities so it doesn't seem appropriate to have one just for Shunsuke, and if we do have one, it should be in whatever the standard Wikipedia format is. I'm taking it out. Ytny 18:32, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Someone originally put 2.5 million, changed correctly to 1.25 but someone else put it back to 2.75 million. The correct figure is 1.25 million according to Gordon Strachan who said in the telegraph: "When transfers are reported, you have to add an exaggeration fee and in Glasgow there's an exaggeration percentage on top of that. He would have been good business at £5 million. The fee was quoted at £2.5 million. It was half of that"
Remember that Strachan employs some bizarre tactics with the media though --217.42.207.16 (talk) 02:37, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
I completley agree with 217.42.207.16. The only contradiction I have heard to the £2.75m figure is one closer to £2.8m, and I've certainly never heard anything close to £1.25m--86.142.141.131 (talk) 16:21, 30 August 2009 (UTC)RS 30/08/09
Several years late on this, but I think the discrepancy may be due to image rights being part of the reported transfer fee. Martin Greig's book on Nakamura puts the image rights at £1.3m, which is indeed half the reported transfer fee (although Greig also reports the total transfer fee at £2.7m, not 2.5). May add a note in the article on this. -SesameballTalk 15:00, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
Naka should have 65 caps of June 5 2007 after the Colombia match.
Please note that somewhere this maybe listed incorrectly as 66. This is incorrect, as Nakamura made his proper debut against Singapore a few days after. The match against Hong Kong in 2000 was not a full A International and is therefore not listed on the JFA website as it is not a full cap. Gaijin84 17:34, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
What happened to the old profile photo? OK, it wasn't a great profile photo but it could still be useful at another section. I suggest that the person who deleted it put it back under 'Celtic Career' or something. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.211.53.201 (talk) 20:35, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
I was reading the article and noticed that there are so many unnecessary links. For example, why would the reader reading about a footballer care about every birthdays as well as every important events that happened on every 25 July in the past? There are too many of these. There was also a link for "beans." I think that's way too random and cluster the article. If nobody mind, I will remove those "date" and "beans" links. Elsonlam1 (talk) 07:03, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
There's another Nakamura Shunsuke (中村俊介 in Japanese) who is an actor in TV dramas, e.g., Shopping Hero. Links referring to that other guy need disambiguating. Giles Martin (talk) 18:37, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
this article has either been vandalised or re-written by a child, someone who knows how to edit should revert it to a previous version. I would but I dont really know how to edit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.162.91.116 (talk) 12:31, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
I reorganized and cleaned up the lead to get rid of some older/oudated information and to make it less convoluted. I also added some of his newer notable achievements. I noticed that there has been a lot of switching around of the terms 'Asian'/'Japanese' and 'Scotland'/'Europe'. I chose 'Asian' and 'Europe' because there haven't been that many successful Asian players in Europe period (e.g., AFAIK there have only been a grand total of four players nominated for the Balloon d'Or when they were eligible from 1995-2009, at least from East Asia... don't know about the AFC in general). At the same time, I didn't want to be too fluffy/flowery. I welcome any comments/discussion on the changes. SesameballTalk 05:12, 20 April 2014 (UTC)

I removed a claim that Nakamura was MVP of the 1995 edition of All Japan High School Soccer Tournament - I found it particularly dubious as his high school lost 1-2 in the first round of the tournament (see ja-space article on the 1995 tournament); it's also not mentioned in Martin Greig's book on Nakamura or even on Nakamura's Japanese article. I don't know if anyone has a source, or perhaps it was another MVP he won - or for the 1996 edition (when his team made the finals). --SesameballTalk 06:21, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
