I added the second paragraph as a NPOV as possible of overseas Vietnamese to provide a complete picture of that day and what it means to the Vietnamese people as a whole. To be honest, overseas Vietnamese do not consider it a day of liberation and find offense to the communist government's deliberate candy coated manipulation of history by naming it as such. But, this comment is very POV and as such I have left it here and not the main article. --hvn73 11:14, 21 December 2005 (UTC)----

In the history, Germany was unified twice; Spain, Italy, Yugoslavia, Romania and Yemen were unified once respectively. The first unification of Germany was finished on 18 January, 1871, when German Empire was established after the end of three German Unification Wars. The reunification of Germany took place on 3 October, 1990, when all territory of East Germany was merged into West Germany peacefully. Thus, German Unity Day, also the national day of Germany, is on 3 October since 1990. The unification of Spain was finished on 2 January, 1492, when Granada was annexed by Spain. The unification of Italy was finished on 20 September 1870, when Kingdom of Italy occupied Rome. The unification of Yugoslavia was finished on 1 December, 1918, when Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (changed its national name to Kingdom of Yugoslavia in 1929) was established after the end of World War I. The unification of Romania was finished by Treaty of Trianon in 1920. According to this treaty, Kingdom of Romania got Transylvania from the former country Austria-Hungary. The unification of Yemen took place on 22 May, 1990, when North Yemen merged with South Yemen to form Republic of Yemen peacefully. In conclusion, please change this article's title to "Reunification Day of Vietnam", in order to distinguish from the unification day of other countries. MouseCatDog (talk) 11:40, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
