Very old comment

I could agree that an article about the house built for Lord Bute's Docks engineer may not merit retention on Wikipedia. However, this is an article about the house built for Lord Bute's engineer by William Burges, pre-eminent Victorian art-architect. It also forms a set of articles about Burges; Burges himself, Castle Coch, the Tower House, Professor J. Mordaunt Crook and later Cardiff Castle, Knightshayes Court and others which I intend to add. As such, I would ask that it not be deleted.

Many thanks. I have included such sources as I can, but Burges is a much under-written architect and therefore a great deal stems from the personal knowledge I have of his work.

Park House or McConnochie House

I have re-instated the latter term, as this was the name by which the house was known when it was built and it links the house with its creator, William Burges, from whom the house's fame, such as it is, derives. I agree that it is probably best to retain Park House as the "main" name, as this is the title by which it is now known.

Restaurant or club?

I think Park House's current owners consider it a club, rather than merely a restaurant. Certainly, membership is offered, which would be unusual for an institution that was only a restaurant. I suggest we revert to club. KJP1 (talk) 14:55, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

You may well be right. It's years since I lived in Cardiff, and even longer since I went there - when it was a piano showrooms and up for sale! But certainly their website still calls it a club and offers membership. However, I'll bow to local knowledge and leave as is. KJP1 (talk) 17:42, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

Pink Ribbon

To me, the wrapping of the house in a pink ribbon was a trivial event, given undue prominence here. In the house's 130-odd year history, I don't think it really merits a mention, let alone a photograph. Thoughts? KJP1 (talk) 07:30, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
