I live in Wellington and it seems pretty Western to me. When did New Zealand stop being a pacific island country? 121.73.7.84 (talk) 12:25, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

I think it's because the term "Pacific Islands" now refers to either Melanesia (excl PNG) or Polynesia and NZ is more its own region. --SHB2000 (talk) 11:44, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
