"Ordinary People" peaked at No. 24, not No. 29, on the Hot 100.
The article's picture is poor; it mostly shows the piano he's playing! How about something like the photo he used on his debut album, or pretty much any other photo of him.
l just met John's dad today and found out that John graduated from HS at age 16, and UPenn at age 20. His dad is full of energy and life. l can tell where he gets his strength from, a strong family background.
Is there any evidence to back up the claims about John Legend's mathematical career, explicitly, his contributions to the Riemann Hypothesiss?
He was not inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame...he received The Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame as seen here [http://songwritershalloffame.org/ceremony/awards/C3009 ] John Legend is the best legend in the world
I heard a John Legend clip on the radio today (Howard Stern Show) in the context of music copyright law and song ripoffs. The John Legend song -- I believe it was called "Save Room", was shown to be a complete copy of "Stormy" by Classics IV. Whether the copy was intentional or not, he was successfully sued by the Classics IV songwriters. It really did sound exactly the same. It *is* the Classics IV song. tharsaile 19:13, 20 March 2007 (UTC) Is it a cover version with different lyrics as stated on the Classics IV wikipedia page? tharsaile 19:36, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
hmm... it's produced by will.i.am, so i guess it was sampled, and also guess he asked permission, but who knows...check in the liner notes if you have the album.
I heard that John Legend has his own record label from several sources. Does anyone know its name?
Okay, nevermind. I just found out that it is called Homeschool. Blackjays1 14:56, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
I guees he better suits Neo Soul style instead of more generic R&B, so this should be changed in the first lines of the article. Any objections? Netrat_msk (talk) 00:31, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
John Legend was on Real Time with Bill Maher as is mentioned in the article. Does anyone know what song he performed? Could you please add that to the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.186.199.84 (talk) 18:13, 2 November 2008 (UTC) ...and it's added. That was quick. Thank you! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.186.199.84 (talk) 23:53, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
Apparently John Legend has 2 brothers and 1 is a step brother. He also has 1 sister. Does anyone know where their careers are or was John the only one in the family to make it big? --Christinetron (talk) 06:14, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
I did some copyediting. There's a wealth of information in the article, yet, it's nearly impossible to figure out what half of the causes are that Legend is apparently so involved with. Please remember that people outside the USA are reading these articles, and references to Tide and The Gap and such retail store chains here will have absolutely no meaning for them. Please be succinct. Wikify Often Legend appears to be immersed in campaigns that have no reference, and no explanation about places, in Legend's humanitarian work, and I can't figure out what is being discussed. That's a rough comment from a person who has edited music biography articles for a couple years here. Problems:
With all this being said, I can still see that someone is giving a lot of time and devotion to this piece, and I feel awful having to bring up these issues, leaving the piece still at a Start level only because I can't understand a good deal of the programs and places that are mentioned here. This artist deserves some decent representation, but sadly, you can't weed out the problems if you don't understand the text.--leahtwosaints (talk) 19:26, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
I could go on- probably I've already written more than the section in the article. I didn't mean to offend with the little questions in the text, but to show how confusing or non-applicable it might be. If you wish to see Philanthropy sections that are messed up only because the artist is doing so much so often, read the end of Peter Gabriel. A mess, but one with some good stuff between the trivia, once again. --leahtwosaints (talk) 17:27, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
I added the following to the "Philanthropy" section: "On January 22, 2010, Legend performed Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child on the Hope for Haiti Now telethon show.[33]" The only cite is to MTV, but I can add more as soon as they become available. He sang it beautifully, alsmost as well as Odetta. Bearian (talk) 02:29, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
He was there too, can you please add it to charities? http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/01/arts/music/global-citizen-festival-with-neil-young-to-combat-poverty.html?_r=0 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.77.246.37 (talk) 15:46, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
The picture under philanthropy should be moved or changed. A picture of his political support is out of context with the section. I know it's "nit-picking" but I get a little OCD about things like that. Johnnytucf (talk) 17:51, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
Ivy league schools do not give merit-based scholarships. If Legend did indeed receive a scholarship from Harvard, it was based on financial need. This part is misleading as it is written. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.212.197.40 (talk) 05:21, 27 October 2013 (UTC)

I was surprised to see there was not a List of songs recorded by John Legend. I redirected the page to here for now, but feel free to get a list going before me if you have time and interest. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:47, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
This seems like it is a quote from the above article? Is it just poorly attributed? Jacketed 06:03, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Hey does anyone know what vocal range he is, he sounds kinda too low for tenor but still manages with quite high notes, baritenor?

add: 2016 John Legend played as Keith in movie La La Land. Cystozin (talk) 05:48, 15 February 2017 (UTC)
The "Career beginnings" section says "Legend was hired to sing during the hooks of West's music. This was after his rebranding, as the artist known as, Dorrough." Apart from the superfluous commas and terrible wording, I can't work out what this sentence means or who it's referring to. Neither Kanye West nor John Legend, as far as I know, have ever been called "Dorrough," and there is another rapper and songwriter by that name who appears to have no connection to this story. Am I missing something? Sadiemonster (talk) 02:45, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
