Why is this a redirect? --Daniel C. Boyer 14:24, 3 Aug 2004 (UTC)
The commercial cooking section has clearly been taken from somewhere else, by the looks of it the promotional material from some sort of cookery course in Canada. It looks to be neither original nor particularly relevent to the page. 128.232.133.1 (talk) 09:35, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
A quick copy-paste into Google reveals a pretty much identical section in here: http://www.sasked.gov.sk.ca/docs/paa/comcook/intro.html

The newly created article Home Science seems to be nothing but a different term for Home economics, and I suggest that it be merged to this article. We do not need two articles about the same subject. Edison (talk) 04:12, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
Some initial improvements made to include information on pioneer in field and formation of key US organization. Article still needs major improvements, including additional historical information on the development of the field of domestic science into home economics and beyond, scope of field, checks for accuracy, etc. Other additions could include details surrounding the selection of the term "home economics" to describe the field.
