Podžić previously served as member of the national House of Peoples from 2015 to 2019, and was also the first Chief of Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2006 to 2008.[1] He has served as the Bosnia and Herzegovina Ambassador to Bulgaria as well.[2]
