Karaganda Region (Kazakh: Қарағанды облысы, romanized: Qarağandy oblysy, Russian: Карагандинская область) is a region of Kazakhstan. Its capital is Karaganda. On 17 March 2022, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced that a part of the region would become a separate region, called Ulytau Region.[6] The bill came into force on 8 June 2022.[6][7]
