Do we want a category on Jazz producers? I'm thinking of Orrin Keepnews and others. Also, a category for jazz critics like Nat Hentoff? Any comments before I create some?

I can't seem to find a 'jazz venues' category - maybe my eyes aren't working - Wally's Cafe (Wally's Cafe is the oldest continually operating Jazz club in the US) is sitting as a dead end page. Anyone want to rescue this article? - I know nothing about the venue. FoolesTroupe (talk) 03:49, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Your portal is mind blowing. I hope you add extra categories til the end of time! Awesome work. Jason West Jones (talk) 05:17, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
There does not seem to be any category or articles in the portal about jazz music theory?! For example, contents of Barry Harris' method or other material as in the books of Mark Levine, etc. Digisus (talk) 18:46, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
How about having a "new articles" section where anyone can add their newest creations?
Something like this:
Another question: Why not make some more links from within articles or categories to this portal? For example bebop (french) or bebop (dutch) both link to their jazz portals.

Note that the Adorno quote listed on the front page of this article was written by Adorno in an article he attributed to the pseudonym "Hektor Rottweiler." --- There is a debate concerning to what extent Adorno understood jazz and what jazz he actually heard - i.e., European popularizations of American popularizations of American jazz. His attacks on jazz may not be directed at the "authentic" jazz played by serious musicians. At any rate, it may be worthwhile adding the pseudonym to the quote's attribution to not the ambiguous context. Editor437 01:14, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
and proofread our german projekt to translate a germany specifc jazz article Portal:Jazz/Jazz in Germany and correct the word order and ask me questions. --Roomsixhu (talk) 08:32, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
The article Tony Vitti has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Koui² (talk) 05:01, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
very moribund portal. doesnt get a lot of traffic, but that may be due to it not being linked a lot, or that nothing has happened here for 7 years. added random function, created 9 articles/images to rotate through, trimeed out sections that are hopelessly out of date.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 05:55, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
there will be a DYK section soon. and more info on each of the pictures, including image credits. patience is a virtue, man.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 04:27, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
The subject of this article Sonique Linus Burdick seems to be totally imaginary. picture from http://www.archives.gov.on.ca/fr/explore/online/alvin_mccurdy/big/big_54_unidentified_woman02.aspx Single reference false, .... Lioneldecoster (talk) 11:46, 12 April 2017 (UTC)

Hello Jazz portal people. I'm rewriting the page for Wally's Cafe, a historical Boston Jazz club. I have sought feedback, to no success, and was hoping one of you could read the page and provide constructive feedback. Thanks! DovC123 (talk) 22:42, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
